"Adopt. I'm still seventeen myself..." He argued weakly, still had his problems understanding it all. To come to terms with it. Him... a werewolf's mate. A damn hot-looking one, but... could you fall in love from one second to the other?
Then again, he owed Derek a talk at least, didn't he? "...Mkay. I do not promise anything yet. If at all, I.. would need time. A bit... to... get to know him. You... all this. I'm... not new to this whole werewolf thing, but... mates, no. I haven't found anything about that. Never."
"I didn't mean now." She laughs a little. "I meant whenever you both are ready, you may never be, but that's fine; you don't have to have kids." She tells him, and she was honest, they didn't have to have kids. "Now, would you like me to show you to Derek's room?" She says.
"..Actually. Here... here would probably be better. Neutral area, or something like that.. could you... go and... Uhm, get him? If... I don't know; it's no trouble or... anything." He mumbled now, then turned his gaze out through one of the big windows. Silent. Wordless. Unsure what to say now.
"Of course, I'll go get him from his room. I will be in my room so you two can have some privacy." She says. She stands up and heads to Derek's room.
Laura knocks on his door twice before opening it. "Hey, Derek. Your mate wants to talk." She tells him. She watches as he slowly gets up and walks towards her. The expression on his face is heartbreaking; she hasn't seen that expression on his face in 6 years.
When he gets close enough, she wraps him in a hug. "It will be okay; everything will work out, little brother," Laura whispered into his ear. She ran her fingers through his hair for a second before pulling away. "Now go on, go talk." She says with a sweet smile.
Derek tries to smile at his sister, but he knows it doesn't work. So he just slowly makes his way to the living room. He takes a seat across from his mate but doesn't look at him; he doesn't want to see the anger there before.
"...So you, mister hot guy, are the one I'm supposed to be in love with. The undying, eternal kind of love. When did you know? Before or after we did it?" He asked, trying to open a conversation. "Or something," He spoke a bit calmer than before, couldn't bring himself to face Derek yet, though. Still, this had to happen, right?
"As soon as I caught your scent on the dance floor." He tells him. Derek finally looks up to meet his mate's eyes. Trying to convey more through his eyes, not bring sure if he can keep the conversation going.
"...So that's why you came to me." He summarized, went silent a few moments before speaking up again. "...Can... let me ask you something before we continue... whatever this is. Do.. you say you like me just because of this mate thing.... or for myself?" He sounded shy, unsure as he asked, this topic new to him—unfamiliar ground. "...How do you know if you have... met that person? Just from the smell?"
"I like you for you; being mates just enhances those feelings." He tells him. "Your scent smells like home to me. Like comfort and happiness, your scent calms me down and makes me feel at peace." He goes on.
He debates on telling his mate how he feels right now before finally going for it. "I don't know if you feel any discomfort, but it's physically and emotionally painful for me to be away from you. Especially since you haven't accepted our bond yet, I've never felt anything like this before. Losing my family didn't hurt this bad." He whimpers the last part. He tries to hold it in; he doesn't want to pressure his mate any more than he already has. Cause that would just lead to him pulling away more.
For a while, Stiles stayed silent, just processing the just given information. Didn't answer right away. At least, from what Derek said, it sounded like it still was somewhat a personal decision. For the discomfort, however... "I do... about the whole... you know. It's probably just mixed in there... if.. don't know, would a human sense it at all?" He asked back, feeling almost guilty at the little whimper coming from the other. Accepting.. he knew he would have to. Sooner better than later.
