After some time and debating with the Milotic, Elsie was brought to an infirmary, with the only condition that Milotic could come along. Much to the workers' surprise, there wasn't any kind of injury that they could find on the girl. No bruises, no trace of poison from the Nihilego, it was as if Elsie wasn't attacked by an Ultra Beast at all.
Some suspected it was since the Milotic was using Aqua Ring, which would've explained why it was desperately holding onto her. The wounds would only be healed if Elsie was in the Aqua Ring which would mean she would have to be super close to the Tender Pokemon.
But none of those theories could explain the sudden change in eye color.
During her stay, Elsie learned that the other two people that she had seen along with Lillie when she woke up were Lusamine and Gladion who was Lillie's mother and brother respectively.
It wasn't until Elsie explained the dream that she had along with the story of the former guardians of Holon that things were starting to somewhat be pieced together.
"I suppose the only thing that we can say about this little event is that these former guardians that you know were moved enough to help you when you were in danger," Lusamine said.
"I guess so... but I wish I could figure out why," Elsie responded. "The only thing that could be used as a clue is that the mentioned not wanting history to be repeated."
"Maybe you could find some answers in the library on Ula'Ula Island," Lillie suggested. "Acerola is sometimes there and she usually knows a lot about ancient tales."
"Well... seems like that's the only way to have a chance at figuring out what's going on. Plus I need to head to Ula'Ula to continue my Island Challenge anyway."
..........
After a few more days, Elsie was finally released from the hospital and was more than ready to continue with her journey. The Aether Foundation had made arrangements for her and Lillie to be transported to Malie City, where the library was supposed to be according to what Elsie had heard.
Right before she stepped out of the building, Elsie heard a cry that by this point was getting all too familiar with her. Almost as if on instinct, she turned just in time to see Milotic, who was back in the conservation area, swimming to the very edge of the artificial pond, staring up at the girl.
Elsie stared back, not certain about what the pokemon wanted. But she couldn't help but think the expression the Milotic was giving her looked vaguely familiar.
'Where have I seen that look before?'
It wasn't long until a memory resurfaced. Back in Melemele Island when she first met Lucien. Her Growlithe had that same look that Milotic was giving her right now. Right before Kahuna Hala came in and explained to her that Lucien wanted to be part of the team.
"Milotic... do you.... wanna journey with us?" Elsie asked slowly.
Milotic then dove into the water. Confused at the response, Elsie began walking closer to the pond.
'Was... that a no?'
Milotic then shot out of the water, startling the girl. The sudden jump made Elsie take a step back in surprise, causing her to trip and fall on her butt. Milotic gracefully landed right next to Elsie, nuzzling her cheek.
"Did I... guess right then?" Elsie asked. "You wanna be part of the team"
Milotic nodded.
"Well, we're more than happy to have you then. I guess it's time to come up with a name for you." Elsie thought for a moment before speaking again. "What about Aquaria? Do you wanna be called that?"
Milotic cooed happily, nuzzling her new trainer more.
"Looks like you have a full team of six now Elsie," Lillie said with a smile. "But first we'll have to move Aquaria out of this area before you can catch her. Pokeballs don't work in the conservation area."
............
Elsie held Aquaria's Pokeball close to her as she and Lillie rode the ferry to Ula'Ula Island. Part of her still couldn't believe that she had a full pokemon team to call her own. Back in Holon, she considered herself lucky just to have Prism and Sapphire back in Holon.
It was only until Lillie spoke that Elsie was snapped out of her thoughts.
"Sorry that you had to meet my family while you were being attacked," she said. "I guess down at the labs, they were trying to do more research on Ultra Beasts and things must've gotten out of hand."
"Life is always throwing curveballs at someone," Elsie responded with a shrug. "Though you do have an interesting family dynamic. The president of a foundation for a mother and a trainer with a unique pokemon for a brother... doesn't sound like anything could be dull between the three of you."
"I... guess it is interesting when you put it like that," Lillie said with a nervous laugh. "But let's just say we're still getting over some bumps along the road."
"I understand. Though I have to say that I'm a little envious that the three of you can get through some tough times."
"Envious? How so?"
At that, Elsie hesitated a moment. 'I never did tell her about my family.'
"Uh....without going into detail let's just say that my family... never sees eye to eye. And the only way that I can get some peace and quiet is... w-when I'm away from them."
Lillie simply held Elsie's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry. I understand. In those situations, you just have to... figure out what you think is right and go with that, which I think you're already doing."
Elsie nodded, smiling a little. "Thanks."
Soon they felt the ferry slowing down, signaling that they had made it to the next island.
'I guess before doing any trials, I can check out the library and see if this Acerola person has some information about Sagent and Resilvern.'
The moment they stepped out Elsie heard Prism, who was no longer walking right beside her. Looking back she saw the Eevee standing next to the discarded Dragon Scale Elsie had found earlier.
"Oh, I guess the string broke and it fell. Thanks for letting me know Prism."
"Vee." Prism picked up the scale and walked towards Elsie. Much to the girl's surprise, the dragon scale began to glow, the same light soon covering Prism who then began to grow and change shape.
'Is... Prism evolving?'
When the light died down, both Elsie and Lillie stared at Prism with wide eyes. The only thing that Elsie could stutter was,
"P-Prism... are you alright?"
