Elsie followed her other four friends into the outskirts of Orilon Town. "So...what did you want to talk to me about?" she asked.

"Well since a lot of people are just getting to the point apparently, we couldn't help but hear what Demetria said to you." Alice said. "We wanted to make sure that you were okay, as well as make sure you weren't throwing away such a big chance just because she got a few low blows on you."

"W-Well uh..." Elsie stammered. "I-I mean...she's right about me being...timid. I probably wouldn't do anything in another region anyway..."

"Elsie, if the roles were switched and she got the required score while you didn't, she would leave without thinking about you. Not even for a second." Lyn told her. "She just said all that just because she can't go to Kanto and wants to ruin someone else's chance at a journey. Just sit and ask yourself when has she ever waited for you when something happened?"

Elsie tried to find an answer but the only thing that she could say was, "She hasn't."

"See? She doesn't wait for you when it comes to little things so why should you wait for her when it comes to something big?"

"We all saw how interested you were in Alola." Zale added. "You're going to sign up right?"

"I'd like to."

"Then...start packing your stuff and sign up tomorrow. Simple as that." Hera said. "The whole reason Holon made this program with all the other regions so those with potential can actually reach that potential they have. You obviously have that and you're going to throw it away just because of a jealous girl? I've never seen Prism or Sapphire be hostile in any sort of way and they glared at Demetria. They definitely didn't appreciate that little stunt she pulled."

"Yeah...they were definitely upset."

"Elsie, real friends make sure they allow each other to become stronger." Alice said. "Not try to make them miss a big opportunity they have. In the end, you have to start thinking about what's going to benefit you the most. Do you really want to stay home with the way things are now?"

Elsie didn't say anything, causing the other girls to sigh.

"Well, it seems that you have to think about it. Just...whatever you choose, make sure that it's your own choice and not someone else's. We're all going to different regions and we're still gonna be close." Zale says.

Soon they left but Alice stayed behind.

"Hey, it's not all that rare to accidentally make a bad or fake friend, so I can understand why suddenly you're confused and probably hurt from Demetria saying all that." she told Elsie. "We're all young and learning after all. The only thing that matters when you find yourself in a situation like that is figuring out how to grow from it. If you do, you'll look back at this little moment and maybe even laugh."

Elsie sighed as she watched them go back to their respective homes. She looked down at her pokemon before petting them.

"Come on you two, it's time that we head home too."

................

After dinner, Elsie stayed in her room with her pokemon. She plopped on her bed and stared at the little note that was on her test. But it wasn't long until she heard shouting from outside her room.

'Yet another fight.'

Putting the test down, she began looking around the room for her headphones.

"Blu."

Elsie looked over her shoulder to see Sapphire was holding her headphones in her beak. She thanked the Swablu and took the headphones but Sapphire didn't let them go.

"Sapphire...come on let them go."

"Swablu!" Sapphire shook her head stubborn, keeping her hold on the earbuds. Elsie looked to see that Prism had a hold of her phone. Neither of them was willing to just let their trainer lay down and listen to music.

"I guess you two want to talk about what we should do about everything that happened today huh?"

The two pokemon both nodded.

"I really want to go to Alola, it's the region that I was the most interested in. But at the same time...is there even a chance that I'll do the Island Trials that Hau was talking about? Well...I guess I should be asking you guys if you wanna do that since you two would be the ones actually battling. Do you guys want to do the Island Challenge?"

"Vee!"

"Blu!"

"Guess that's a yes. But still...all the things that Demetria said...I can't get them out of my head for some reason."

"Eee! Eevee!"

"Huh? What is it Prism?"

Prism pawed at Elsie's phone and a song started up. It was a favorite among all three of them. Soon the chorus came up.

I don't wanna spend my life trying to fight for what's not mine. I don't wanna lose myself in someone else's dream. I know I was made with a purpose, to reach past the surface, live life fearlessly. I want nothing less than to be who I'm meant to be.

Elsie couldn't help but let out a giggle. "Yeah, I guess that song does apply to this kind of situation."

The shouting got louder, signaling to Elsie that now everyone in the house was a part of the arguing at this point. She took a breath to keep herself calm. Immediately, both of her pokemon were by her side, trying to comfort her.

'Guess this is what Alice meant when she asked if I really want to stay here.' she thought. 'The fighting has only gotten worse and not only is it getting to a point where I can't handle it, but it's also unfair to Prism and Sapphire to have to listen to this too.'

"Alright, I think I made up my mind on what we should do."

"Vee?"

"Blu?"

Elsie looked at her partners and smiled. "Right after school tomorrow, we're going to start packing. We're going to Alola and completing that Island Challenge. It might be a little scary but as long as we stick together, I know that we'll make it through."

Before she knew it, both Prism and Sapphire had practically tackled her and Elsie fell back onto her bed, laughing as the two licked and nuzzled her face. Elsie returned their affection by hugging them tightly.

"Yeah now that I've finally made up my mind I'm really excited." she told her partners. "Before we know it, we'll be starting our own journey, see all the alolan pokemon, try one of those malasada things that Hau mentioned. They must be really good if half of his presentation he was talking about them. And none of us will have to hear all that fighting for a while. We'll actually be able to have peaceful nights all the time."

"Eevee! Vee! Vee!"

"Blu, blu! Swabu!"

Elsie laughed as she watched Prism jump around on her bed and Swablu fly around the room.

"Alright alright, let's save the excitement for when we're actually in Alola." she said, calming down from all the laughing she's been doing. "I have a feeling we're going to need all the strength we can get from now on."
