Elsie and Lillie made their way toward Malie Garden, where Kukui was waiting for them. Prism walked beside them, thinking it was no longer that wise to sit on Elsie's shoulders now that she had claws.
During all this, Rotom was flying ahead, glancing around at the landscape in front of them.
"Hey Rotom, what are you doing?" Elsie asked, tilting her head curiously.
"Looking for a good place to take pictures of course." the Rotom-dex replied. "We'll get a lot of valuable data on Drakeon."
'I guess a pokemon who loves to be in a pokedex would naturally wanna see anything that's never been discovered before.' she thought. 'After all, it'll be the very first pokedex to have information on a Drakeon.'
Soon enough, the girls found the professor waiting for them. Upon seeing them, Kukui smiled.
"Ready?"
Elsie nodded. "Ready as we'll ever be."
As if on cue, Prism stepped forward, taking a breath as she prepared herself for battle.
"Then let's see what moves Prism can dish out now. Incineroar, you're up!"
Suddenly, Elsie and Prism were staring up at a pokemon that had some semblance of a Litten. Rotom quickly flew to Elsie's side, showing information on the pokemon that had just been sent out.
"Incineroar, the Heel Pokemon. A fire and dark type. The final evolved form of Litten. As its fighting spirit increases, the flames that Incineroar produces within its body burst from its navel and waistline. In the heat of battle, Incineroar shows no concern for its opponents and sometimes even launches attacks that strike the opposing trainer. As a result, many tend to dislike this pokemon and keep it at a distance."
"Huh... didn't think that Professor Kukui would have a pokemon like that," Elsie muttered mainly to herself. "Figured that he would have pokemon that would be friendly towards others unless this specific Incineroar is out of the ordinary."
After hearing the pokedex entry of alola's fire starter, Prism couldn't help but think it made sense that Evan chose Litten as his starter. In the end, neither of them would end up very likable.
"Hey Prism, whatever new moves you think you know now, go ahead and try them during this battle," Elsie called out to her partner. "We won't get very far in learning your new abilities if we only see the moves you knew as an Eevee."
Prism looked back at her trainer, nodding before focusing her attention back on the Incineroar.
"We'll start this off! Incineroar, use Throat Chop!"
Incineroar then rushed forward, preparing to use its first attack. At the last second, Prism spread her new wings out and launched herself into the air.
'So those wings definitely have some use.' Elsie thought. 'Prism's not flightless anymore.'
Prism then opened her mouth and released a strong gust of wind that gave off a purplish color, which Incineroar easily avoided.
"That was Dragon Breath," Rotom stated. "So Eevee can learn the move Dragon Breath right after it evolves into a Drakeon."
"At least that confirms that Prism is a dragon type now," Elsie noted.
The Drakeon studied the movements of her opponents, remaining airborne.
"Looks like Prism favors attacking from above now." Professor Kukui said. "Let's see what she does when she might be shot down. Use Flamethrower!"
From Incineroar's belt, a stream of flames burst forth, shooting toward Prism.
"Use Dragon Breath again!" Elsie called out.
Prism flew towards Incineroar, swerving around the Flamethrower as she got closer. Much to the Heel Pokemon's surprise, the Drakeon used her claws to attach herself to its chest before spitting Dragon Breath at point-blank range and returning to the sky.
"So it looks like that Drakeon first start out airborne but will also rush in for an attack if they feel the need to," Lillie said.
"Prism, follow up with Quick Attack!"
Prism once again dove down to Incineroar, this time using Quick Attack. Incineroar tried to intersect it but it seemed that the Dragon Breath had paralyzed it at that moment, which lead to it having no choice but to take the hit.
"Use Darkest Lariat!"
Before Prism could fly off again, Incineroar swung both of its arms, slamming the Drakeon to the ground. Prism huffed and rose to her feet quickly after, shaking off the dirt. One look and a small nod from the pokemon let Elsie know that her partner was fine and still willing to continue.
'Though we have quite a bit already, we still don't know what her special ability could be.' she thought. 'Is there a way for me to figure that out during this battle or do I just have to wait until a certain situation happens to make it show itself on its own?'
Her question was quickly answered when she saw Incineroar relax its stance, catching a Full Restore that was tossed at it.
"I think we've learned quite a bit in that battle. There's no need to keep going." Kukui reasoned. "Plus you two need to save your strength for your next trial."
"Is it really okay to stop the battle this early?" Elsie asked. "Seems like all we figured out was Prism's preferred fighting style now.
"I think discovering a little at a time is best," Lillie said. "It'll be less overwhelming learning what a Drakeon can do by doing that."
"Drakeon. So that's what you decided to call this new evolution?"
"Y-Yeah. It's mainly based on the new sounds that Prism makes now. Does it sound okay?"
Kukui grinned. "I think it sounds perfect. Now, you said that quite a few other events aside from finding a new eeveelution happened right? Wanna share what I've missed out on so far?"
"O-Oh right. I guess you would be curious about those too... especially since I look a bit different than before leaving Akala. Maybe after telling you, then we might have more ideas on what to do to figure out these mysteries that seem to be coming up everywhere."
It was then that the three of them sat down, Elsie telling Professor Kukui everything that happened during her time in Aether Paradise.
