Elsie tilted her head in confusion at the sudden challenge.

"You... want to battle me?" she asked. "Why?"

"Even after you finished all the trials before I did, you're still hesitating on battling?" Evan questioned. "I really don't understand you."

Hearing that just made the girl even more confused. "All this... is because I passed Kahuna Nanu's trial before you did? Cause we've hardly even seen each other, let alone spoken to each other before that happened."

"I really have to explain this don't I..." Evan sighed before speaking again. "Getting through all the trials in Alola means that you're a strong trainer. But I don't believe it. So prove to me that you're a strong trainer."

"I still don't get the point here," Elsie admitted. "I proved to myself that I was able to make it this far. And you made it pretty clear what you thought of me when we first met. I don't think one battle is going to change your way of thinking."

"Well, it's a least a start right?" Kukui noted, patting Elsie's back. "Battling is a quick way for people to get to know each other better. Besides, now that everyone here's seen your team I'm sure they're curious about the stylish moves that they can pull off."

It wasn't long until all of Iki Town was cheering for a battle to take place. Elsie looked over at Prism to see her glaring at the trainer that had just challenged them.

'I guess I don't really have a choice on whether or not to accept Evan's challenge.' she thought. 'Everyone's too swept up in the excitement of this party and Prism wants to give Evan a piece of her mind.'

Holding back a sigh, Elsie nodded. "Alright. I accept your challenge."

..........

"So... how is this battle going to play out?" Elsie asked as she and Evan stood on the wooden podium.

"We both have a full team, don't we? So it'll be six on six." the challenger replied. "No switching out is allowed."

'A full battle? He's really not playing around is he?'

Elsie simply nodded once more, preparing herself for the battle at hand. "I'm ready whenever you are."

The first pokemon that Evan sent out was a Toucannon. In response, Elsie sent out Skye.

'So her Rockruff did return to her after all.' Evan thought. 'What other surprises does she have hidden away.'

Not wasting any time, Elsie called out the first attack. "Skye use Stone Edge!"

"Dodge and use Bullet Seed!" Evan countered.

With ease, Toucannon flew over the approaching Stone Edge before raining Bullet Seeds from the sky. Skye began running to avoid the attacks, jumping on the Stone Edge left behind to get closer to his opponent. It wasn't long until the Lycanroc was right above the Toucannon.

"Use Crunch on Toucannon's wing."

Toucannon fired one last Bullet Seed as Skye sunk his teeth into its right wing. Both pokemon came crashing down to the ground. Skye jumped to his feet first, the scratch on his shoulder proving that he did take damage from Toucannon's Bullet Seed. He took the time to catch his breath as Toucannon slowly got to his feet.

"Use Accelerock."

The Cannon Pokemon was down as soon as it got up, staying down this time. Evan returned his first pokemon as Skye stood there, waiting for his next opponent. It wasn't long until the next pokemon came out. An Araquanid.

'A water and bug type. This could be a bit tricky.' Elsie thought.

"Skye use Accelerock again."
