Elsie was still trying to wrap her head around what had just happened. Everything that had led up to this battle and now it was over. She had finished all her trials in the Alola Region.
'I... guess this means that I'll be going home soon in order to create gym leaders and a league for Holon.'
Elsie and Hapu returned their pokemon to their capsules, giving them the rest that they deserved.
"After hearing about your little story and battling with you... you remind me a lot about Lillie over there." Hapu noted as she approached the trial-goer, a Z crystal in her hand. "No wonder you two seem close. Well, here's your proof for beating your grand trial with me. Groundnium Z."
"Thank you." Elsie took the Z crystal with a smile.
"You've finished all your trials. That means you'll be leaving Alola soon right?"
"Yeah. But first I should go back to Melemele to let Professor Kukui and Hau know what's going on. They'll worry if I just disappear."
"Knowing them, they'll probably hold a big farewell party for you to wish you luck," Lillie said.
"I guess we should get going now so they have plenty of time to plan then," Elsie replied with a smile.
Hapu smiled as well. "Then I wish both of you the best of luck. Maybe one day we'll come and check out the league that you create, Elsie."
.........
Elsie gazed at the open waters as the ferry began making its way to Melemele Island. Prism and Sapphire standing beside her, watching as well.
"It's hard to believe that we'll be leaving Alola in a few days at most," she said to her two partners. "Are the two of you... ready to go back to Holon?"
"Taria..."
"Drakeon."
"Got mixed feelings about it huh? So do I." Elsie admitted. "On one hand I'm excited to go through with our plans to establish our own league there but on the other hand... some of our last few moments before we left for Alola... weren't all that pleasant. I just hope we're not coming back to too much negativity."
It was then that Elsie felt Sapphire's wings wrap around her while Prism nuzzled into her shoulder. She smiled and hugged them both.
"Though... we've handled a lot more than we did just staying at home so maybe it won't be that bad. As long as I've got you two, and the rest of our team with me, I know that we'll get through it somehow."
"Elsie."
It wasn't long until Lillie walked towards her, joining in to watch the passing scenery.
"We're almost to Melemele Island," Lillie noted. "I'm sure that Professor Kukui and Kahuna Hala will be waiting for us."
Elsie nodded, but then a question came to her mind. "By the way, Lillie, now that you completed all your trials, what are you going to do now?"
"There's a close friend of mine that I want to meet," she answered. "It was another reason why I decided to go through Alola's trials. So I can grow strong enough to see my friend again one day."
"I'm sure that you'll see them soon then."
Lillie couldn't help but smile a little. "I hope so. Maybe you'll meet Nebby one day too. Perhaps we could travel to Holon to travel your league one day."
Elsie let out a giggle. "That would be a very interesting day. I think I'd like that. Or maybe I'll come back to Alola sometime. I guess either option would give us the perfect excuse to see each other again."
"It's a promise then. Whenever we're both done with our goals, we visit each other's regions. And have a battle."
Elsie nodded. "Yeah, it's a promise."
............
"So, that's what you're planning on doing now?"
"Yeah. The story of how you established a league for Alola when it originally didn't have one inspired me to do the same for Holon. I want everyone back at home to have the same opportunity for a pokemon journey. The same kind that my friends and I were able to have."
Both Alola's pokemon professor and Melemele's Kahuna smiled when they heard the news.
"Then you go out there and create a league that Holon will be proud of!" Kukui said with the same smile that he's always had. "And show off all the stylish moves that you and your pokemon have come up with during your time here!"
"If that's your next plan of action then we'll have to send you off properly," Hala noted. "A celebration to wish you luck and a final farewell should be perfect. It'll be just like the party that you were part of when you first arrived."
"Sounds like a great idea. Guess we should get started on those plans right now. Don't wanna have Elsie here to keep her friends waiting. Lillie, why don't you and Elsie go fetch Hau? He should be in the Ruins of Conflict."
"Ruins of Conflict?" Elsie echoed in question. "What's that?"
"It's where this island guardian, Tapu Koko sometimes appears," Lillie explained. "I remember the way there, it's just past Mahalo Trail. Let's go."
Elsie nodded as she followed her to an old dirt trail on the far side of town.
'Hau is where the island's guardian is supposed to show up when called upon? I wonder what he's doing there...' she thought.
"We're almost there," Lillie told her. "The ruins are just on the other side of this bridge."
Elsie couldn't help but look over the edge as they crossed the bridge, only to see the ravine below them. There also seemed to be spots where the bridge looked like it was repaired.
'Looks like at some point this bridge broke.' she thought. 'I hope no one fell down when it happened.'
Elsie then looked forward to seeing a cave that they were heading straight towards. The Ruins of Conflict. She followed Lillie inside.
'The air here feels tense. But maybe I should expect that from a place where a legendary guardian appears in.'
It wasn't long until they found their friend standing before a pokemon that Elsie had never seen before. Was it that yellow streak in the sky that she saw right before she officially began her flower petal hunt?
'If that's the case then... that pokemon with Hau is Tapu Koko.'
