Hi... It's Rah.

It's my senior year in high school. I have been in NC for about 4 years now. My family has moved into a different house than the one we moved into when we first got here. We are actually getting our floors redone right now because this house flooded as well. The AC broke and was pouring 10 gallons of water into our floor each hour. Because of this, we haven't had a kitchen in the house for a few months, and we lived in a few different hotels. Luckily we are back home, but we still don't have a kitchen or floors downstairs.

These past few years have been pretty crazy. I was in a very bad relationship for a while when I first started high school. I also got and lost many different friends. After I was hospitalized for a bit, my parents helped me get a service dog. When Covid-19 hit and quarantine started, I focused on training Baxter.  He attends school with me now. He is turning 2 next March. Next March will also be my 1-year with my boyfriend. I am free from the toxic relationship, and I am so lucky to have such a great boyfriend.

Mentally, I am in a much better place than I was when I first moved here. I have been through Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and I have learned many skills to help me throughout all these tough times. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Hurricane Harvey was a terrible experience, and at the same time, it forced me to grow up. Without Hurricane Harvey, I would not be where I am now. Maybe in some way, I can be thankful with what I have been through.
