In the morning when we woke up we were ready to move onto our new home 1036 miles away.

I took the dogs and I walked out to the lobby. I brought the dogs outside to let them go to the restroom, but they would not. I think they were too nervous. They knew something was about to happen. My uncle drove up in his truck and I jumped into the car with the dogs. Eventually my whole family came outside and got in the car. The first thing we had to do was go to get the guinea pigs.
The person who was keeping our guinea pigs met up with us and gave us our sweet little piggies. They were in buckets because we had to leave the cages behind. The cages were too large.
The smaller bucket with the mean guinea pig was put in my lap. She would always get into fights with the others so we had to separate her from them. The larger bucket, with the other three guinea pigs, was put on my older sisters lap.
As soon as everyone got into the car, we started our journey to our new home. We were excited and ready to have a calm, relaxing ride. That's not what we got, though.
Instead we had three blowouts on the trailer in the back. My family got tired of it and we decided it wasn't safe to keep driving, especially now that it was dark and a blowout could happen at any time.
We found the cheapest hotel that we could get and we slept there for the night. We got there at about 9:00 pm. It definitely wasn't a great hotel, but it was somewhere to give us shelter for the night.
When we woke up in the morning we got in the car and started driving again to our new home. This time we were lucky and we didn't have anymore blowouts or flats. We had a safe and calm ride all the way up to this new house.
Soon we were at the house. When we got there it was time to calm down and begin getting ready for bed. We didn't have any furniture or anything, but a few people gave us some air mattresses until we had furniture to sleep on.
I'm not really sure what day this was but I think it was around Sept 6. This was the night that our journey really got a lot better. We had our own home that was clean and new. We got to restart fresh. No more Houston devastation... now it was time for rebuilding.
