After walking for 10 minutes up the street, "Okay Bucky cover your eyes" I said. "Maria what is going on," Bucky laughs. "Keep them closed just a few more steps... and ta da! We are here!" I exclaimed. "Wow this is incredible," we both look up to the tall green lit up tree in front of us. For the past year, New York citizens have been coming and placing an ornament with their loved ones name who passed in the war on the 15ft tree. "This tree took 30 neighbors to put up can you believe it Bucky?" I asked him. "It really is beautiful," you see a nervous look fall on his face. "Bucky are you okay?" I questioned. "Yeah can we just keep walking." He asked. "Of course Buck." I said.

Family, friends and yuletide cheer, that's what Christmas is all about right? Not in my book, you see when you have lost your family Christmas doesn't feel the same because you can't share or sing or celebrate Christmas traditions like how you used too, I guess you still have your friends right? Well I've never been one to make that many friends, that's why James is really my only friend.

You know it's kind of funny when I think about how we met. James was walking with his mother Winnifred, he tripped on a Christmas themed Jack in the box, that's why Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I was sitting outside by the window waiting for mother to be done mailing her letter to father who was serving in the Navy at the time. "Oh are you okay young sir?" I ask politely. "Oh yeah I'm okay, I'm James." He says. "Well hello James I'm Maria," I exclaim. "Maria where are your parents?" Asks James mom. "Oh my mother is inside, she's mailing a letter to my father who is serving in the Navy," I say.

All of a sudden I hear Mrs. Winnifred say, "Oh my goodness, aww sweetheart how far long are you?" At first I thought she was talking to me, me and James were only 10 and I was confused. "Huh," I say as I turn around to see my mother. "Oh I am about 6 months today!" Exclaims my mother. I had the look of fear on my face because I thought Mrs.Winnifred was talking to me. James gives a little chuckle, "How wonderful! Congratulations!" Mrs.Winnifred says cheerfully. "Would you guys like to go and get some hot coco at the cafe?" Asks my mother. "We would love that, wouldn't we Bucky?" Bucky? Who is Bucky! "Oh yeah hot coco sounds delicious right now!" James shouts.

As were walking I get closer to James, "So Bucky? What is that like a nick name..." I whisper. "Yeah well only people who know me well call me that?" James says. Fine then James I guess I'm just gonna have to be best friends with you for 15 years to be able to call you Bucky. I playfully cover his eyes with his hat and he laughs. James grabs my hand and yells, "Come on your mom and mine are way ahead of us," we run to catch up. Man! Since when could a pregnant woman walk so fast!
