My mouth drops, I am in shock. I read the date of the letter, "Monday May 15, 1936". That was 6 years ago and he never mailed it. I don't really know how to feel. I have always felt a connection with Bucky but I never thought it would happen so I ignored it and honestly forgot about it until now.

As I sit and think about what I just read something struck my mind. Wait I never saw Steve!
I didn't even think about how Steve never showed up. I was too focused on Rebecca and Bucky I forgot that I was going to meet Steve. Maybe he did show up and that's who was knocking at the door earlier. I understand why Bucky wouldn't want me to meet him at the since he had just found out his sister had Scarlet fever.

1 hour later I cuddled up in a blanket and fell asleep with the letter right next to me. A couple hours later I hear Rebecca coughing repeatedly, I run upstairs to see if she is okay. She's panicking and shivering. "Rebecca it's okay, it's okay." I cover her back up with her blankets and go downstairs to get her a glass of water. I walk back upstairs quietly so I don't wake Bucky and his mother. I go back downstairs and fall asleep.

The next morning, I decide to forget about the letter and place it by the coffee table next to me. I go outside to shovel up some the snow on the driveway.

I come out of my room to see if Maria is up. Wait where is she? I see the letter I wrote 6 years ago when I was about to leave for war. Oh no! I run outside to find Maria placing down the shovels with my hat on. I give a smile. "I told you I would wear this everyday!" Shouts Maria. "It looks good on you." I say.

A bit later, while I'm packing, Maria asks,
"Hey Buck..."
"Yes Maria?"
"I never met Steve..."
"Oh about that, yesterday the person who knocked on the door was Steve. I would have let you meet him but we just found out that... well you know what we found out."

I give Bucky a sad look, "Don't be sad Maria I assure you, you will meet him one day." "Okay well I better!" I laugh.
