A little bit later we headed back to Bucky's parent's house. Bucky opens the door, "Hello my dear family I'm home!". "My son! My Bucky come here, oh how nice to see you as well, Maria!" Winnifred says cheerfully, she's pulls both of us in for a tight hug. "Where is my dear sister Rebecca?" He asks. His mother had a heartbroken look on her face, "Mother why do you look so down?" questions Bucky. Winnifred puts her head down. "Mrs. Winnifred are you okay?" I ask. "Cough cough" Bucky runs up the stairs, into Rebecca's room and stops. I follow him, his face turns white and I could see the water start to rush through his eyes. "Bucky what is i-" I stop to see Rebecca lying in her bed, the color of her skin was washed out. A tear rolls down Bucky's face.
"Bucky I'm so sorry," says Winnifred as she places a hand on Bucky's shoulder. Bucky removes her hand and walks down the stairs. I stay to keep Rebecca company. I knew as soon as I saw it, Rebecca had the scarlet fever. I feel a tear roll down my face it was warm, I taste the salty ness of the tear through the crack of my mouth. "How could you not tell me about this!" Bucky's voice was breaking as he quietly yelled from downstairs. "I'm sorry Bucky but I didn't want to worry you, but your sister... is not getting any better." Winnifred says softly. Bucky comes back up stairs and sits by Rebecca's bed. "Rebecca, Rebecca," Bucky whispers. "Wake up...". Rebecca wakes up, "Oh..." her eyes adjust, "Bucky! Your home!" She tries to get up but is very shaken. Bucky hold her hands, "Yes I'm home now, how are you doing?" Questioned Bucky. "Well I wish I could be better, but other than this..." Rebecca starts going on about how her life has been for the past couple of years. Bucky has a big soft smile on his face. It was nice to hear about someone so sick being so happy.
I think that when people hear about others that are sick or they know someone who is sick all they think about is "are they ever going to get better, oh my goodness I feel so bad for their family". What people need to realize is that people are so much more than their disease or sickness, most of there life is treatment and medication, it really won't help when people add on questions for example, "do you think you will ever get better?". These people who have illnesses want to be more then just that. I will never understand why humanity just can't get that through. Hearing Rebecca be so happy made me smile too. I started to think about when my sister had the scarlet fever and I would go to dances to find new songs to listen and dance to with my sister at home because she couldn't go to dances. Thats when her fever wasn't that bad. Then it got worse.
"Rebecca would you like me to make you my special hot coco?" Bucky asks. "I think that's what I've missed from you most of all, of course I would love some!" Answers Rebecca. James's hot coco consists of milk, chocolate powder, home made whipped cream, and candy cane bits. Wow that actually sounds good right about now, now I want one! Bucky rubs me on my shoulders and smiles at me while he leaves the room. "I saw that," says Rebecca. "Saw what?" I ask. "So when are you two going to get married?" We both start laughing.
