They drove up to this old-looking mansion, as Riah and Fox got out Aunt Missy called, "Pick your rooms! And Be nice about it!!" Both of them picked up their bags and ran into the house shoving past each other, running up the stairs. Riah took the second biggest bedroom and Fox got the one next to his sisters, obviously leaving the master bedroom to their aunt.
"Eek!! Tomorrow is our first day Fox! I wonder what college is like, I hope it's wonderful!" Fox rolled his eyes but kept a smile for his sister's sake, over the years of them being in the human realm Fox had become more mature than he was before, also much more protective over his sister.
"Come on Fox! Aren't you at all--" Riah at that very moment stood there speechless, her vision went black, and she woke up in a bed she'd never seen before? When she looked around, she saw two people whom to her felt familiar, but their faces, she didn't recognize.
"Aldon, we have to do it! Not only for our safety but the kids of this realm and more." A woman with long beautiful red hair and pointy ears spoke to a male who of which looked just like her, only, he had long blonde hair.
"Loralai, I know this but, what about Missy? And the kids? We don't have time to warn her for the Bloodworth leaders and your parents are going to be here any minute." She grabbed three pieces of paper and two pens, Loralai handed Aldon a pen and paper
"We'll leave each of them a letter telling everything that has happened and where we'll be. And you know Missy, she is the leader of the wisest dragon clan here, I know that she'll find a way to get us out. After we're done, hide them and send an uh, what's that human word for it." Loralai looked over to her husband since he had human parents at one point.
"It's called a message dear; we'd have to send them a message when the time is right." At that moment they could hear the sound of little feet, and as soon as Riah heard this her vision came back and she was laying on the ground with her aunt and her brother over her.
"Azariah??" Her aunt looked a bit pale as she tried getting her attention, Riah was speechless, all she could think about were nothing but questions. Who were they? Why were they talking about aunt Missy? What were the little footsteps she heard before she came back?
"Here Riah, drink this, it's just water with some rosemary and ginger powder in it. It's what Lor- your mother use to give you." Riah looked up in shock as soon as she heard what Missy was about to say, was she talking about the woman she saw in whatever just happened? She told them that their parents were dead, but what if, before Riah could finish her thoughts, she got interrupted by Fox.
"Azariah? Maybe you should go to bed, get some rest before tomorrow." Fox helped Riah up to her room, but she didn't go to sleep right away, she laid her head on her black fluffy pillow and looked up at the ceiling as the events from earlier kept playing in her head. The next morning, she woke up to Max licking her cheek, Riah giggled and patted him on the head as she got up walking over to her closet.
"What should I wear today boy?" He jumped up and pulled down a pair of ripped jeans and a red spaghetti strap with rhinestones all over, as Riah laughed, she picked up a black leather jacket, "What about this to go with it?" Max put his paw over her ear meaning she agreed with her then disappeared into Riahs's necklace, once she got dressed, she walked over to the mirror and started a pep talk.
"Ok, just breathe you got this! New school new me!" She took a deep breath and walked downstairs where her brother and her aunt were waiting for her to eat.
"So, you two readies for your first day? Fox, please watch your sister, after what happened last night, I think we need to keep an eye on her for the time being." With food stuffed in his mouth Fox nodded in agreement, Fox's familiar Star was eating her breakfast. As the twins grew so did their familiars, with each year they would become different, once Riah went through a pink phase and Max was nothing but hot pink!! It was pretty funny, Max hated it so much he didn't come out of the necklace for weeks, now he's jet black with purple patches and dark blue eyes, while Star had a nice snowy white fur and black eyes.
"Good morning, Star, Fox, Aunty." Star huffed and turned her head the other way, "Ah bratty like usual not surprised, dear brother please learn to teach your wolf some manners! Max is the nicest griffin I know." Riah let out a small laugh as Star looked at her as if she was insulted by Azariah's comment.
"Oh please! I tried to play a simple prank on you and that beast bit me!!" As Fox was going on and on about Max, he appeared next to Riah, his fur a nice shiny black which he loved.
"Here you go boy, berries and some beef I made especially for you." Riah set a bowl down on the ground and sat at the table starting to eat, by the time they were all finished and got their familiars into their necklaces, they set off for the school. Riah and Fox walked through the doors of Greendale, their faces lit up, this place was a wonderland, they were shown to their locker and given a piece of paper with their classes on it. Riah was just getting done with math when three girls walked over to her, slapping the books she was holding out of her hands.
