Chapter Fourteen

They marched towards the palace with fire sticks, blocks of wood, and weapons galore. With fear in her heart, Riah marched with her people. At this moment she had realized how much she's grown, and how much she'd changed as a person, soon she'd have to rule an entire kingdom, and to be honest she was freaking terrified! She was eighteen and had her life already planned out? She had plenty of emotions as she marched, but knew she had a duty, that she had people that depended on her. Behind the crowd the gods followed from above, sure, they couldn't go down there but could protect the people.

"Are you okay?" Fox came walking up to his twin sister, "I'm worried about you Aza, do you want me to tell mom and dad that we'll switch places?" Silas walked up and placed his arm around Riah and Fox as she answered.

"Nonsense Fox, yes, I'm scared but I have a duty to the people and I get that. Plus I'll have you two on my council and them so I'll be fine." She smiled as she placed one hand on her stomach and the other over Silas and Fox.

"Oh hey, what happened between you and Cassius, Riah?" Fox asked as the three of them shoulder to shoulder together.

"Oh, um, well he and Jina are soulmates and apparently since they met they've felt a connection. But I'm fine! I have someone else-" She looked at Silas as he smiled grabbing ahold of her hand, "Besides it was never going to work. After all of this is over, I will tell him we have to be friends and that I wish him and Jina happiness." Stated Riah while they marched. When they made it to the palace the Bloodworths had Tara and Pixie tied to poles and had the gates boarded up. as a bunch of clan warriors came running out to attack Riah's people.

"Tara!!! Pixie!! Don't worry I'm coming!" She created a beam of light for her up to Tara and Pixie as she and Alister walked up to untie them, the moment Tara reached her sister's arms she collapsed.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Tara sobbed as she rocked back and forth as her sister cradled her in her arms rubbing her head, "I'm sorry Riah I'm sorry." Lillian ran over and hugged her and Skyler when Riah spoke.

"Hey, hey, hey! You're okay now, everything is okay now. I'm not upset or mad or anything, I'm just happy your safe sweetie, same goes for Pixie." She hugged Tara and Pixie rubbing their heads softly as she looked around watching her people being taken down her eyes glowed a bright green.

"Whoa there Azariah, what is going on with your eyes?" She ignored Silas's question as a bubble of light appeared around her lifting her and blowing the warriors away from her people as she spoke.

"I promise to protect you all, focus on your family and I will be beside you through this tough time." Her family managed to get away before a force field surrounded everyone.

"Riah!! We're stronger together!" Her father shouted as her grandparents ran over, "Mom, Dad we'll catch up later right now we have to help our baby girl!" They ran and flew up to her and joined hands together forming a circle.

"Riah!!! Help me!!" Lillian was being held by her hair, by none other than her mother, Riah let go of her mother's hand looking at Lillian in pain.

"Mother, father, Fox I have to" Her parents shushed her as they nodded.

"We know honey, we know how much she means to you. Go we'll hold them off until you get back." She jumped down and started walking towards them.

"Let her Vivan, this is between me and you bitch." Her body glowed green as she walked forward, "She's your daughter, you're willing to hurt your daughter?" Vivan smiled and let out a laugh tightening her grip on Lillian's hair and making her scream.

"Mother please!!" Vivan tightened her grip again pulling Lillian closer to her.

"Shut up, both of you! You! Azariah Evergreen has made my life a living hell for thirteen years too long." Stated Vivan as she tossed Lillian to the side.
