Your eyes shot open as your door flew against the wall with a bang - harsh sunlight flooding your room.

"Fury's here." Steve strode into the room, pulling the blankets from over your eyes. He opened the blinds before standing over your bed with his arms folded.

A groan escaped your mouth as you made a desperate attempt to cover your eyes once more. The morning light was cruel, forcing you to wake up against your will.

Memories from the previous night entered your brain: Loki's threats, the fight, Thor's apology.

"He'll warm up to you."

"Y/N?" Steve pulled your arm from over your eyes, throwing clothes he'd pulled from your drawers onto you. "He's waiting, darling."

He shot you a warm smile before leaving the room to allow you privacy, letting you know he would be waiting patiently outside.

You reluctantly rose from the bed, beginning to make yourself presentable. Unusually, Fury's surprise visit was at the back of your mind.

Loki's voice echoed throughout you, sending chills down your spine. The memory of his dagger against your throat hitched your breath, the shirt you were holding falling to the floor.

"I think you're stupid to mess with me."

Steve opened the meeting room's door, ushering you to your seat. He then took his place against the door, his arms folded and a concentrated expression on his face.

Loki was leant against the far wall, twirling a dagger in his hand. His face was fixed in a permanent scowl as he watched you sit down.

Fury cleared his throat, beginning the meeting.
"An organisation have got a hold of a SHIELD prototype drug. The drug was an experiment conducted by Doctor Bartley, which allowed a change in DNA in order to..." He took a breath, knowing the outrage the explanation would cause, "enhance...certain participants. Willing participants."

Natasha rose from her seat, a stone cold expression set on her face. Her blood began to boil as she straightened her back, glancing between an infuriated Clint and Fury.

"Do you have any idea the effects that could have on someone?" Bruce slammed a fist against the table, his anger growing. His experience with certain experiments were not the greatest.

"Yes, Doctor Banner, which is why we must intervene. This drug, when combined with the wrong DNA, can be fatal. Now, with the help of Stark, we've determined which of you will have the best reactions." Fury continued, earning a distracted wave from Tony, who was far too busy...scrolling through Twitter?

"Y/N, Thor and Loki - your DNA matched up perfectly. Now, we are aware that Thor is attending to multiple missions back on Asgard later today and for the foreseeable future, which is why I ask that Y/N and Loki..." He grimaced, not wanting to finish the sentence, "Do this alone."

Loki scoffed, not believing his luck.
Thor furrowed his brow, watching Loki closely.

"After conferring with the Norse God..." Fury
paused, still getting used to the terms, "Odin, I have clearance to send him on a mission. You will both be using your abilities to go undercover in the organisation, giving 24/7 intel to SHIELD using appropriate technology that we have developed."

"And why would I do this?" Loki raised his eyebrow, slowly making his way towards the front of the room.

"If you do not fulfil the request, you will be sent back to Asgard, effective immediately, to rot in that tiny, tiny jail cell." He confidently walked towards the God, his hands behind his back and a smirk on his face.

"And me?" You questioned, your anxiety levels rising.

"The mission will not be able to go forward. People will die, Y/N, and that will be all on you."

You nodded, knowing that the decision was already made.

"We'll be sending you undercover at the end of the day - a helicopter will arrive in 12 hours." He opened the door, addressing the room with a nod before exiting.

"London, baby!" He yelled through the corridor, your eyes widening.

Not only were you to work with the God, you were to be alone in a foreign country with him. This was going to be Hell.
