"𝐎𝐇, 𝐒𝐇𝐈⎯"

Percy pushed Toni to the side as the lion raked at them with its claws, which ripped off a chunk of Percy's coat. The two backed against the railing. It sprang at them, one thousand pounds of monster, and Percy and Toni met eyes.

"Don't you dare."

"Sorry."

Percy grabbed her hand—she ignored the butterflies as hard as she could—and jumped over the railing with her in tow. Luckily, they landed on the wing of an old-fashioned silver airplane, which pitched and almost spilled them to the floor, which was three stories below them. Unluckily, the lion jumped onto the aircraft, the cords holding the plane groaning with the weight. If Toni fell, she was going to haunt Percy till the end of time.

The lion swiped at them again and they jumped onto the next exhibit, which was a weird-looking spacecraft with blades like a helicopter. Toni looked up and saw the lion roar—inside its maw, a pink tongue and throat.

Oh, gods. It's mouth! She looked at Percy. "Perce!"

The boy turned to her. "What?"

"Its mouth!" He gave Toni a confused look, and she sighed. This boy was an idiot. "Percy, its fur is why is invulnerable, but the mouth isn't. Look!"

She pointed to the opened mouth of the lion, and Percy's eyes widened in realization. "Whoa. You're right."

"Obviously."

He sent her a grin. "Way to go, Andi."

This is the first act. A sneak peak at what you are expecting in Act One. I'm really excited for this one because you can bet that Aphrodite has some things in store for these two!
