"Are you sure you're not bored? You've read every book I can give you – you've even reread them all multiple times."

I nodded, "I'm fine."

Jupiter sighed, shaking his head, "if you say so."

It was strange to have people looking out for me after these past few years of having to look out for myself. But it was also nice and a tad bit annoying at times, I suppose.

But truth be told, I was feeling bored... I just didn't want to bother anyone about it. Besides, another thing the last three years had taught me was how to utilise the feeling of boredom. To either ignore it or force it away. So why should I bother anyone if I knew I could deal with it?

I looked down at the book in my hands, and then up to the ones stacked on the small shelf in my room and then back at Jupiter, who was looking at me.

"Well, is there anything you would like to do?"

I shook my head, and Jupiter sighed again.

"How about... going out to somewhere?"

I shrugged. I didn't know about Nevermoor to know what sort of places were around.

Jupiter clicked his tongue, "I've got it!"

I raised my eyebrow at him as he walked over to sit beside me on the bed.

"There's a play Chanda's been wanting to see for a while – she's roped Martha and me into going too. It's suitable for children over ten, and I think you're more mature than most of the ten-year-olds I've met; besides, you're not too far off ten, are you? We could bring you. It's an afternoon show so we could go out for dinner straight afterwards! How about that?"

I studied the excited man's face, quickly realising that I would be going with the three adults whether I liked it or not.

"...fine."

His grin grew to an unnatural size, and I could only imagine how painful it was.

"Come on, we're going to be late!"

"Chanda, please calm down – we've got plenty of time."

"Well, since Frank decided to tag along and take forever to get ready-"

"Well, nobody told me you were going to see The Crown of a King!"

"There was a reason for that...."

"What was that?"

"Nothing, Frank."

I shook my head at the adult's banter, trailing behind them a little bit. It was true. Frank had spent an entire hour doing his hair... he didn't even that much of it to do anything with.

"Come on, Jack, we don't want you getting lost," Jupiter turned and called, beckoning for me to come stand beside him, which I reluctantly did.

We got our tickets checked and then walked into the theatre to find our seats. I ended up seated in between Chanda, who would cry for most of the show, and Jupiter, who wouldn't stop checking on me during the show.

Despite that, the show was quite good. A unique way to tell the tale of a lost prince returning to his kingdom and beginning his reign. It was actually rather amusing. But the thing that grabbed my attention from the start was the orchestra.

It was amazing how the music added so much meaning to the play. It was beautiful the way the instruments played together. My eyes – well, eye – kept wandering down to the orchestral pit in front of the stage, nearly always landing on one particular instrument.
