"I need to go out for a while," I tell Hannah and Gemma later that same day after I've gotten changed and put my jacket on. This definitely couldn't wait.

"Where are you going?" Hannah asks me, knowing full well that I've never left work in the middle of the day before.

"I'm nipping out and buying a new outfit for tomorrow night. Tom is making me dinner at his place".

"What!? Why are you only just telling me about this now?" she looks offended.

"Maybe because you humiliated me earlier and now I hate your guts?"

"Clearly you can't hate me that much if you managed to get a date out of it".

"You weren't wrong by the way. That Tom bloke was really good looking," Gemma adds while she's busy cleaning the empty tables.

"Told you so".

"Right, I have to go so wish me luck".

I wasn't just leaving work to buy a new outfit. I was also going to the hotel where I know for a fact the man I ditched at the bar last night is staying.

As luck would have it, the hotel just so happens to be right next to the shopping centre where I also needed to go. Two birds with one stone as they say.

When I get there, I quickly buy everything that I needed before going to the ladies room to hastily put on the auburn wig and some fake glasses that I'd just bought as well.

Keeping my face concealed, I leave the shopping centre and head around to the back entrance of the hotel nearby where the staff would normally go in.

Once I'm inside, I grab a maids uniform that's conveniently hung up on a rack before I get changed, leaving my other clothes and shopping bags well hidden.

This man had money, so I know that he'll be staying in one of the suites rather than a regular room, so I snatch a passkey out of an actual maids pocket when I pass by her.

To avoid any cameras, I take the back stairs and follow the layout maps displayed on the walls until I find the right floor. Every room I try once I get up there is vacant so far.

I suppose most people only stay for the night because they're ridiculously expensive, or they just aren't here in the middle of the day because they're on holiday.

As if by magic, there's also a random housekeeping trolly abandoned in the corridor. That should definitely come in handy later.

I grab some fresh towels from it to make it seem as if I'm actually doing some work on the off chance that I get caught inside one of these rooms by a guest.

"Housekeeping," I call out when I enter another room, but this time I can hear someone in the bathroom because the shower's running.

I look around briefly and discover a man's wallet next to the bed. Upon opening it, I see a driver's license inside with the man's picture on it so I know that I'm finally in the right room.

Before he comes out of the bathroom, I wait patiently by the door so he'll think I've only just let myself in here.

"Housekeeping," I announce myself when the bathroom door opens.

"Haven't you just been around this floor about an hour ago?"

"Well, sir, new hotel policy states that we have to come around on a more regular basis now to ensure that our wealthier clientele are well looked after and comfortable".

"Is that so?"

"That's correct, sir. I happened to hear the shower running when I passed by your room so I took it upon myself to bring you some fresh towels".
