Lisa's POV

"Wanna have a bonfire together?" Rosé asked with that wide smile of hers.

"Sure," I replied.

"Who wouldn't? It's all on Lisa," Jisoo suddenly added.

The hell? Do I look like I'm just throwing money around?

"Okay fine. Hon, come with me, we gotta find some wood," I told Jennie. She looked at me for a moment before saying...

"Go with Jisoo instead."

Kai. Hmm. Gotcha, Lisa.

"How about Kai? Can he come with—"

"Babe, I think he's not feeling well."

Jennie cut me off before I could finish.

She was worried about Kai. Worried enough to interrupt me. As if she didn't already have me standing right there.

"K," I muttered.

I hurriedly went off to find some wood before the sky grew darker. My phone buzzed suddenly.

It was Somi.

Somi's POV

Did you think I was out of the story? Girl, I am the main character here. I called Lisa, wanting to check up on her. Stop assuming.

"Hon, baby, I miss you," I said into the phone.

"Yuck! The hell was that?" Lisa shot back instantly.

Wow. Look at her calling me disgusting, like nothing ever happened between us.

"F*ck you, Lisa! I hope you die!"

"Oh, sorry. My wife asked me to gather wood for the bonfire."

"For what? And how can you even call her your wife like she hasn't done anything wrong to you?"

"Can we just... forget about that? She's getting close to me again, okay? And I think our family can be rebuilt. Let's stop watching her every move. She changed. And while Kai's around, she's acting so distant. I think... she still loves me."

"You're so stupid, Lisa."

"You're even dumber, Somi."

That stung. When your own friend tells you you're dumb, it cuts deeper.
"Watch how I'll cut your head off when I get back there," she teased.

"Wow, scary. Okay, I need to hang up. I'm gathering wood."

"Not yet. Stay safe when you head back," she whispered.

I could hear the waves in the background, her footsteps against the sand. It sounded like music. For a second, I missed being at the beach with her.

Then she said it.

"Bye. I love you."
