Jennie POV
"I'm sorry I'm late," Blake said with a wide rectangular smile, his square jaw and angular features making him look like a model. His big, round eyes were striking, framed by long eyelashes, and his double eyelids made his gaze even more intense.
His heart-shaped face made him look almost unreal. The broadness of his forehead tapered down to his sharp chin, and his lips—well, they were almost perfect. A fuller top lip with a rounded cupid's bow, though naturally turned down. He had the looks of a man who could easily make you melt with a single glance.
He was dressed in loose black pants paired with a button-down shirt covered in vivid, bold patterns. His tall frame and handsome appearance made it impossible to ignore him.
"Nice to meet you?" he asked, still gazing at me like I was the most interesting thing he'd seen all day.
"Jane. Jane Kim," I said, my voice barely above a whisper as he continued staring at me. His eyes—those big, round eyes—were like magnets, and I could feel myself melting under his gaze. What was wrong with me?
"I'm Blake Salvador. Photographer, Model, CEO," he introduced himself. I couldn't help but stare, my mind scrambling to process what he had just said. Was I hearing this right?
I nodded, trying to regain my composure. "Nice to meet you." You've got this, girl.
"Let's sit, Jane. Or... Babe?" he teased.
I laughed nervously, feeling a heat rise to my cheeks. "Ahem, call me Jane for now. Maybe 'Babe' in the future." I shrugged playfully, but in my head, I was screaming. What the hell was I saying?
Blake just chuckled. "Alia told me you're married" he said with a smirk, as if he'd just uncovered a juicy secret.
I groaned inwardly. That gossip queen. "Yes, but I'm getting a divorce soon. I'm planning to get remarried," I said, trying to sound casual, though my heart ached at the thought of Lisa.
The night went well. Blake asked for my number, and the way he treated me—so sweet, so kind—it almost made me forget about everything else for a moment.
Later that Night
Jennie POV
"Why are you smiling, anak?" my mom asked, eyeing me from across the living room.
"Mom, the guy I told you about... he's a CEO," I replied, still in disbelief at the events that had just unfolded.
"A big catch, anak," she said with a knowing smile. "You should definitely go for him."
"Yah, Mom. But Lisa is an artist. So, no," I said with a sigh. The whole situation felt complicated.
"What if we make a plan?" she suggested with a glint in her eye.
I raised an eyebrow. "What kind of plan?"
"Does Gail already fall asleep?" Mom asked, clearly scheming.
"Yeah, she's asleep," I replied, not liking where this conversation was going.
"Why not get closer to this CEO, huh? Forget about Lisa for now. he might be the one."
"Mom, that's not how it works. I'm married!" I said, getting frustrated.
"Why does it feel like you want me to just forget about her and move on so easily?"
"Because I know that what's in the past is in the past," Mom said, trying to be logical. "What if Blake really is the one for you?"
I could feel the heat rising in my chest. "Stop, Mom. I need to sleep. Goodnight." I got up quickly and left for my room. Was she really suggesting that I should forget Lisa, that it would be that easy?
As I sat on my bed, I picked up my phone. Should I call Rosé? It felt like a good idea, so I dialed her number.
(on the phone)
"Who's this?" Rosé answered the phone with her usual dramatic tone.
"Sino ba sa palagay mo?" I teased, already grinning.
"OMG, Jennie! Is this really you?" Rosé screamed on the other side of the phone, and I could practically feel her excitement.
"Yeah, thank goodness you didn't change your number," I said, feeling relieved.
"I missed you so much! Can I see you soon?" she asked eagerly.
"Soon... when I'm ready. I'll talk to you then," I replied. "But hey, how's Liam? Is he doing okay?"
"He's fine. He cries sometimes when I talk about you," Rosé said with a sigh. I could tell she missed me as much as I missed her.
"How about Lisa?" I asked quietly, trying to gauge her reaction.
"Well, you know the news, right? Somi is her fiancée now," Rosé said softly.
"Yeah, I heard. It's... it's fine," I said, my heart feeling heavy. How could she move on so quickly?
"Are you still in Jeju?" Rosé asked, clearly trying to change the subject.
"Actually, I'm in Japan right now," I replied.
"Japan? Wow, stay safe there! Let me know how everything goes, okay? And don't block me again!" she said, and I could hear the smile in her voice.
"Miss you too, Rosé. Talk to you soon."
Lisa POV
Months had passed, and I found myself standing outside in the cold, celebrating Liam's latest achievement. He'd made honor roll, and I couldn't help but feel proud.
"Wow, Mom! This is so cool. Thank you!" Liam said, his face lighting up as he unwrapped the gift from Somi.
Somi, always thoughtful, handed Liam a new car toy, and I couldn't help but tease her. "So, when's the wedding, huh?"
Somi laughed. "You're such a dork."
Kai was there too, watching us from the sidelines. His smile was warm, but I couldn't help but wonder: How is he still so calm about all of this?
