Chapter 2: Let her

Lisa's POV

"Jisoo..." I called, seeing unnie sitting on the sofa. She hummed in response, her eyes still fixed on the TV.

"I want to travel... is that okay, unnie?" Her head snapped toward me, suspicion written all over her face. She knew me too well. I never left Liam with anyone—not even a nanny. Jennie never trusted them, and I agreed.

"If Jennie allows it, and if I come with you too," she said carefully.

I let out a small laugh. "Lol, no. I just want to travel alone—to clear my mind. To have peace."

Her brows furrowed. "Why? Did you and Jennie fight? I thought everything was fine between you two. Or... are you tired of taking care of Liam? Why are you suddenly asking for peace of mind?"

That's Jisoo for you. She could always read me. Whenever Jennie and I argued, she was always the first to know—she is Jennie's sister, after all.

"I don't know how to explain it to you but..." My voice trailed off as nerves hit me. Would she even believe me if I told her that her sister was cheating on me?

"Just tell me," she urged, her eyes softening.

"You know I consider you like my own brother, right? Don't leave me hanging, Manobang."

Her words pierced through my hesitation. I couldn't hold it in any longer. If I did, I'd go insane.

"Jennie is cheating. I mean—I—"

"JENNIE IS WHAT?!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the room.

"Shhh!" I rushed over, covering her mouth. "Unnie, please. Liam will hear you!" He was in his playroom, one more shout and he'd surely come running.

"Sorry," she whispered, her face pale.

"But... how? How is that possible?"

"I don't know, unnie. She changed. Jennie isn't the same Jennie we knew."

Her eyes filled with guilt. "I'll help you, Lisa. We'll find out the truth together. I can't bear to see you like this. I'm so sorry."

"Unnie, don't apologize. Please. I hate hearing sorry from you. You're not the one who betrayed me."

She looked at me, eyes trembling with emotions, as if wanting to say more. But just then, her phone rang. She quickly turned it off without answering.

"You don't want to talk to her? Don't you want her to explain, Lis?" she asked.

"No. Let her be. Not now, unnie. I... I don't want to lose her yet."

Jennie's POV

I'm Jennie Kim Manoban. Yes, married to Lisa Manoban—the superstar actress. Everyone says Lisa is perfect. And she is. That's what I used to believe too.

When I started working at KIC, everything went smoothly at first. I never thought things would end up this way.

I met Kai—the owner of KIC. I'll be honest, he's a good-looking man. Charming, persistent. At first, I brushed him off. But we kept running into each other. One day, a bouquet of flowers appeared on my desk. I thought it was from Lisa, but when I looked closer at the card, it had only one letter: –K.

I looked up and saw Kai smiling at me before walking into his office.
From then on, he sent me flowers every day. He knew I was married, yet he didn't stop. He kept telling me Lisa would never know.

One night, he asked me to be his girlfriend. And I said yes. I don't even know what came over me... but the truth is, the more time I spent with him, the more I fell.

Call me crazy, but I don't want to lose Lisa... or Kai.

I woke up in Kai's bed. It was already 8AM. Lisa was surely preparing everything at home by now.

"Good morning, baby" Kai greeted with that smile of his.

"Good morning, love" I replied, kissing his lips.

"Let's eat before you go?" he offered.

I nodded, and after breakfast... we ended up tangled in the sheets again before I finally left his condo.

When I stepped inside the house, I was greeted by Liam running straight into my arms.

"Good morning, Mommy!" he squealed.

"I missed you, baby! How's school?"

"Missed you too, Mommy! Look, I got lots of stars!" He showed me his tiny arm covered with star stamps, jumping around happily.

"Very good, my love. Mommy is so proud of you." I kissed his forehead, and he ran off to his playroom.

"Oh, just got home?" Lisa asked casually from the living room.

I nodded and headed upstairs. After a quick shower, I lay down on the bed. Lisa came in a while later, asking me to move aside so she could watch TV.

"Jisoo unnie already left," she said. I only hummed in reply.

"Hon..." she called again, making me glance at her.

"What?"

"I want to travel."

"Liam will be with you?" I asked immediately. Lisa never left Liam behind, especially since I was always busy with work.

"No—"

"Then no. Absolutely not."

"Hon, it's just three days. Jisoo and Rosé can watch over Liam while I'm gone."

"Why do you even need to travel? Are you tired? Go get a foot spa instead," I scoffed.

"No, hon. I promise I'll come back—"

"Mommmyyy!" Liam's little voice broke the tension.

"Yes, baby?" I turned to him.

"Are you and Dada fighting?" His eyes watered, lips trembling.

"No, baby," Lisa assured him quickly.

"Mommy and I are just talking. Don't worry."

"Okay! I love you both. Family hugggg!" Liam shouted, running toward us.

Lisa laughed, and we wrapped our arms around him.

"Lili," I called softly.

"Yes, hon?"

"I'll let you travel. Without Liam. But only three days. No extensions. And remember—no girls. If I find out otherwise, I'll cut your dick off."

"Yes, madam," Lisa teased with a smirk.

"Wait—where's your destination?"

"beach," she answered quickly.

Probably a lie, but I didn't press. I just nodded and lay back down.

Lisa's POV

I finished packing when I noticed Liam sitting on the sofa, pouting with that same adorable expression Jennie always had.

"Dada, I want to come with you," he whined.

"Baby, I already told you. When I come back, I'll get you lots of toys, okay?"

"Hmm... okay. Do you need help, Dada? I'm strong! Look!" He flexed his tiny arms, showing off his 'muscles.'

I laughed. "No, baby. Dada can handle it. But thank you for offering, my love. Take care of Mommy while I'm away, okay? I love you."

"Yes, Dada. Promise! Love you too."

"Hon, I'll go now," I said, turning to Jennie. She kissed me briefly.

"Lili, please take care, okay?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"The love in our family flows strong and deep, leaving us memories to treasure and keep."
