*Freddica 'warning'*

We're gonna start off with my Freedom AU. This one I thought of recently, and it's simple to start with while I detangle all the other HCs in my head.

Freddy Fazbear has a fear of heights.

He was completely oblivious of this fear for a very long time—as the whole having zero memories of life before Fazbear Entertainment doesn't exactly help with that. He only realized that he had such a fear when the gang arrived to their final location.

The building had a staircase access to the roof. One night, Chica asked Freddy to come up to the roof with her as she said the view was amazing.

(The actual view itself wasn't the most impressive. You could really only see the tops of neighbouring buildings, and since it was a city, you didn't have a super clear sight of the stars due to light pollution. But for not having been allowed outside for so long, it was still something special.)

The two went up to the roof, and stood a couple feet from one of the ledges. While Chica was admiring the city's night view, Freddy had looked down and was trying to keep calm outwardly. Inside, he could hear his heart beating in his chest. He felt like he was trembling like a leaf. Thankfully, Chica didn't seem to notice that Freddy's grip on her hand had tightened.

He never told anyone that he had this fear—especially not Chica. After all, what's a more romantic spot in a restaurant? The rooftop that gives you a nights view, or a private corner of the musty and dark basement? For (mostly) Chica's sake, Freddy managed to ignore his fear, and she didn't seem to notice.

To this day, he still can't remember why he's afraid of heights. His only theory is that maybe it was a trauma from his childhood so traumatic, that losing his memories for all those years didn't even effect his fear.

He could just keep theorizing about it, or he could just ask family about it now that they aren't confined to Fazbear Entertainment anymore. But since he's able to bring Chica to romantic spots that aren't high off the ground, he figures there isn't much of a point now.

(However, when Chica found out about this when Freddy accidentally mentioned it in casual conversation, she couldn't tell if her heart had melted to a puddle or broke a little.

"So, all those times we went up to the roof together, you were terrified while I was enjoying the moment?"

"I- Yeah, pretty much..."

"..."

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I. Love. You.")
