AU Headcanons (Because Why Not?)

Freedom AU: 𝒱𝒶𝓁𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑒'𝓈 𝒟𝒶𝓎 Edition

So, if all goes right, then this should be up on February 14—AKA Valentine's Day. I asked a friend for lil' prompts I can turn into headcanons, and from those prompts I bring you these wholesome, Valentines headcanons. This'll be a bit of a hodgepodge of different things, and will likely be in no particular order, and some prompts may be used for more than one couple. Hope y'all enjoy reading these!

◦♡◦ On their first Valentine's Day as a married couple, Toy wanted it to be special—since the 14th of February is also the anniversary of their engagement. Making the holiday special does call for a special gift. Not something like a piece of clothing, or some fancy snack. More something that could be sentimental, while also being something he could get some use from. Noticing that his guitar's strap had been looking worse for wear in recent years, she opted to get him a new one. One that had his name embroidered into the faux leather. As for the color of the strap, she decided to pick something that would've matched one of Bonnie's old costume vests during company days. (A yellow costume vest that Toy thought, in her opinion, suited him nicely!).

During their Valentine's dinner, Bonnie happened to mention the costume vest in passing conversation. He jokingly mentioned how much he didn't like it's color, and how he felt like a walking lemon during his time wearing that vest. Toy tried laughing along with him, but was beginning to get worried that he wouldn't like his gift. Bonnie noticed her demeanor shift when he made the "walking lemon" comment, and when he asked Toy what was wrong, she told him about the gift she'd gotten him. How she'd picked it out specifically to have matched that vest—had Bonnie still owned it.

Bonnie asked if he could open his gift now, which Toy allowed. To her pleasant surprised, he genuinely loved the guitar strap. A moment longer of him looking at it made him realize how it might just compliment the gift he'd gotten Toy—color wise. He'd had the same idea to get her an embroidered gift, but obviously not a guitar strap. It was a cozy, quilted blanket with both their initials embroidered on one corner. It was a light, dusty rose color which matched well with the yellow of his guitar strap. All in all, the couple's first Valentine's together was certainly memorable.

◦♡◦ Unbeknownst to him, Springtrap isn't exactly good at keeping secrets when it comes to your every day situations. (Basically, if said secret poses no safety threat as a result of him spoiling it). This was something about him Spring Shine learned very early on. She, however, opted not to point out the obvious. So, whenever Valentine's Day comes up, she always has a general idea of what he likely has planned—if it's anything beyond a quiet dinner at home with just the two of them.

Shine has become a pro at acting surprised whenever she opens whatever small gift it is Springtrap has gifted her that year. In reality, that box of chocolates she had previously spotted 'hidden' on the shelf of the coat closet. Or the receipt for the bouquet he's bought her the day of, she noticed when it got left on his bedside table. (Along with a loose leaf that fell off a stem). Despite it all, she does very much try and act surprise. And Shine is able to hide her little 'act' by quickly going on to emphasize how happy she is about the present. The not-lie part of her reaction.

Springtrap has yet to actually notice this, and by now, if he manages to never find this out, Shine plans to tell him as part of her dying words... which isn't for a long while, so she has no need to worry about it. Only to enjoy her time with the love of her life, nothing more!

◦♡ One year on Valentine's, Foxy got the brilliant idea to make a homemade cake as a symbol of his love to Vixen(Mangle). Even though he cannot bake. Originally, he wasn't going to actually go through with it and was going to instead buy a cake from Chica's cafe. Except for Jessie's convincing him that he absolutely needed to make Vix a homemade cake. Just like how she, Junior, BB & JJ make homemade cards for the couple on their birthdays or Christmas. Making something yourself is more personal, after all!
