Not-so-fun-fact: Foxy's hook and eye patch? Yeah, those aren't costume pieces issued by Fazbear Entertainment. It just-so-happened to conveniently work for Foxy "the Pirate", and the fox decided to just keep them—as he needed them anyways.

The story of Foxy's missing hand, and irreparably injured right eye begins... um.... Hum. I'm afraid we aren't quite sure where the story really begins, so I'll have to explain this with the little information at my disposal.

Despite the missing memories, Foxy swears that his love for the sea ran in his family. Perhaps his father and/or mother were sailors? They may have taken him sailing at a young age. Foxy seems quite sure of that.

Well, the injury that came first was Foxy's right hand. The fox was quite young when it happened. Anthros had always been treated poorly by humans from the start, even before Fazbear Entertainment. Humans would at times pick fights with anthros they passed on the streets, shoving them down and causing real harm.

Foxy, as a young pup, had been running along a sidewalk in an obvious hurry. To his misfortune, he'd run into a man who was known among the humans to be rather violent. If such a sentiment was coming from other humans, you knew it was very bad. One thing led to another, and Foxy was left in the middle of a busy street to lick his wounds—a good couple of feet away from his unintentionally-severed hand.

To add to his misfortune, the injure wasn't treated in time and got infected. The infection left the little fox ill for quite some time. It got to the point where other anthros were doubtful he'd even make it. By some miracle, Foxy did survive the illness from the injury. However, it left him with a weakened soul. Meaning, if he were to become sick like that again, his chances of survival have significantly lowered.

Several years after than incident, Foxy became guarded, and began acting more tough for his age. That all was a front for his growing fear of a repeat incident and the possibility of enduring another traumatic injury like that.

When it came time for the humans working for Fazbear Entertainment to take him, things got aggressive very quickly. Foxy was confused, and a bit dazed when it happened. His memory was failing him, and on top of the confusion of his memory seeming to be completely blanking out on him, he was fearful of the humans who had come to take him.

The guardedness and toughness increased greatly. The fox did his best to fight off the humans, and get to safety, but in the end, it only resulted in another injury. One of the humans had a rather impressive pocket knife on him, which the man used for self defense. Foxy unfortunately got a terrible slash to the eye. That hit was all it took for the humans to finally get the upper hand over the stunned fox, to finally take him away.

And thus, after being given the appropriate costume pieces, Foxy was dubbed by Fazbear Entertainment as, "Foxy the Pirate Fox". He was given a hook in place of where his hand once was, and an eyepatch to cover the still-raw-wound on his eye.

Ever since, Foxy has kept the hook and eyepatch. In honesty, he prefers those over a prosthetic hand—which had been offered by Newer Home's medical professionals—and over parading around with the horrifying scar right on his eye.

Foxy has thought at times, that his eye never truly healed properly, as there have been times where it really bothered him. But, due to his guarded second nature, he refuses to let even the doctors look at him—even though they aren't human, and wouldn't purposefully hurt him.
