I woke up to my alarm going off. It was Friday! Yes! There's a football game tonight, and it's against the Tigers. I love rival games. This is an important game because both teams are undefeated, but not for long.

The student section is planning something big tonight. We're going to have white and black powder paint to throw in the air. We're tailgating in our student parking lot before the game, no alcohol though, that'd be down right stupid if we brought alcohol to school during the day. We are having a boom box with us so during halftime and timeouts we can jam out to music. It's going to be fun. After the game if we win, which we will, we are going to storm the field. I also convinced my mom to let me have a party. She's going out of town for the weekend, so as long as I get the place clean by the time she gets back, I'll be able to do it more often.

I put on the school black football t-shirt with white writing, dry-wash jeans, and red converse shoes. I put my hair up in a high pony tail. Put on mascara, eye liner, a little foundation, and red lipstick.

I walked down stairs and put a piece of bread in the toaster, and filled up my water bottle.

I looked out the window and saw Brett putting his stuff in his car. His dad, who I still refuse to talk to, got him a corvette for his seventeenth birthday last week. Now I know where Cam and Nash's money went. I ran outside across the street to talk to him. We've become really good friends. He was wearing his football jersey, jeans, Nike shoes, and had his hair styled kind of like Zach Efron's in the movie Charlie St. Cloud.

"Hey Rae!" He said looking up and laughing at me being a fool running across the street.

"You excited!?"

"For what? School?" He asked joking around.

"Of course! What else is there to be excited for on a Friday!?"

"Maybe a football game," he said smiling.

"You hear what the student section is doing?" I asked.

"Yeah, you guys are going all out tonight."

"All thanks to me and a few other people with our brilliant minds!"

"I expect a hug after we win when you guys storm the field."

"But you'll smell bad!" I said holding my nose joking around.

"That's cause I'll be running all of the touchdowns in."

"Well I guess," I said.

"Want a ride?" He asked.

"Sure!" I said running over to my house grabbing my toast and backpack.

There was twenty second left. Time for one more play. We were down by three points. We had the ball at the thirty yard line. Everybody was on their feet. They hiked the ball. Brett went running. He did a spin move to get away from the defense on him. He was open, Logan threw him the ball. We were all watching it fly. Brett caught it and ran into the end zone. We were all screaming. We won! We all stormed the field. I ran straight to Brett and jumped in his arms for a hug.

"You won the game!"

"No!? Really!?" He asked sarcastically.

"Really!"

"Look we have to go talk as a team, hang out at the party later?" He asked.

"Of course!" I said hugging him then going over to Macy talking with Joey. I grabbed her and we went to my place.

It's three in the morning. People are finally gone. The place is trashed. I wanted to call Nash. I haven't talked to him for a week. I've been trying to call, but he's never answered. It's late, maybe I should call tomorrow. But what if he has meetings tomorrow? Screw it, I'll call him now.

The phone rang, and rang, and rang. "Hey, sorry I missed your call, leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible."

I hung up the phone. "Like hell you'll call back." Wow, who would've thought that I missed his voice.

"What's wrong with you?" Somebody asked. I jumped but saw that it was Brett.

"Why are you still here? Aren't you tired?" I asked.

"Aren't you?" He asked, "I saw lights still on, so I figured something was wrong, or you needed help cleaning up."

"Well, you got both right."

"What's wrong?" He asked sitting on the couch next to me.

"Nash. I haven't talked to him in a week. I've been trying to call but always get voice mail. And it's not like he's busy, he's been posting vines, putting pictures on Instagram, tweeting, and posting Snapchat stories, but hasn't talked to me at all. Did I do something wrong?"

"No, it's him, he's an idiot for not talking to you."

"I thought the distance thing would work."

"I'm no expert in this stuff, but the distance thing would work as long as he wanted it as much as you do."

"No, he-he's just busy."

"Rae, you need to talk to him," I nodded my head, "try calling him again."

I pulled out my phone, I dialed his number, the phone rang, and rang, and rang. "Hey, sorry I missed your call, leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible."

I ended the call. I started to cry in my hands. Brett brought me into a hug. "Hey, we'll try again tomorrow," I nodded, "Lets get you to bed."

We walked into my room and I got in bed. Brett started to walk out my door but I stopped him. "Do you want to stay here for the night?"

"I'd love to," he said getting in bed next to me. This isn't cheating right? It's not like I'm going to kiss the guy or anything...
