It had been a week since you and James' deal. He and you had spent almost every day and second together trying to plan out a game plan to get Lily and Sirius to you both.

Right now you were in his dorm trying to figure out your phrases, and how to get them to go with you both to the Yule ball.

"Ok... so that'll never happen... what could that mean?" James asked studying your tattoo. For some reason the small skin contact sent shivers down your spine.

"It means he's a jerk. That's all we've got." You had been doing this all day and you were tired. It had taken an hour to figure out that someone else like James. You thought it was lily but then realized that's what she's supposed to say.

"So we can rule out lily liking you, if she is your soulmate." He shot a glance towards you.

"Do you think she's not my soulmate?" You expected him to sound disappointed, but he almost sounded interested.

"Well i mean there's a possibility it's not her. Then again I'm the only girl left. So... no thanks." He frowned.

"No need to be a jerk." He made a face and you mimicked him. You went on like this for a few hours till the door burst open.

"Mate! I found my soulmate." Sirius looked from you to James, then to the papers of game plans on the bed and floor. James and you tried shielding them real quick.

"Mmm.. i- never mind i don't wanna know. But hey Y/n can I talk to James?" You were about to get up when James stopped you.

"We've made too much progress for you to go right now. Sirius, mate, I'm sure whatever you have to say it doesn't matter if n/n is here or not." You smiled inside that he had picked up your nickname from your friends. Sirius quirked an eyebrow at the nickname but shrugged.

"Sure ok, well i figured out Marlene is my soulmate her and Remus had been faking because she was embarrassed." You and James' jaws dropped at the same time. You looked at him and his eyes said it all.

Then who's your soulmate?

I don't know.

Maybe Remus?

You do know we're cousins right?

Nevermind.

Sirius stood there staring at you two, staring at each other.

"Are you guys speaking with you minds? I heard that some people if they spend long enough with each other can do that." James shut him down.

"Ok mate, cool I'm glad you two found each other. Now please leave Y/n and i have a mess to clean up." He shooed Sirius out. Sirius gave you a quizzical look. You shrugged. James shut the door in his face.

"No way.. your soulmate is Snivellus..." he said astonished.

"Don't call people it names it's horribly rude. Bloody git.. and it can't be him. I mean yeah he's nice, but lily would kill me if i took her best friend. Plus, he won't even look at me, and he's broody." James raised his eyebrows as you rambled.

"What?" You questioned.

"So... that would leave me." You shut up hearing that. Knowing that's why you had started making excuses and you hated it.

"But what about lily... if I'm not her soulmate like you were saying,  it's Peter, Remus, or Sniv- Snape." He looked at you. You denied it.

"you know your real thick, she likes you." He shook his head.

"Your not even close, that'll never happen." He said disheartedly. Your heads both snapped towards your tattoos. Then at each other.

"No way..." you said in unison. Your tattoo glowed and disappeared. So did his. Replacing with found you. On both of your wrist. You were still in shock, but you were pretty sure you weren't supposed to have a new tattoo.

"Not possible." You said grabbing your stuff.

"They made a mistake." He agreed.

"They just wanna torture us." You looked him and smiled halfheartedly grabbing you books and leaving. He opened his mouth to say some thing but closed it.

"Why?" You both said breaking down in your rooms.

"Why me? What did i ever do to deserve this? Loving someone who doesn't love me?"
