When she was younger, she would pretend
That her bedroom was a castle, she was fairest in the land
And she got older, and it all changed
There was no time for make-believe and all the magic slipped away
Until the light in her eyes it was all but gone
'Cause all the dreams that she had turned out to be wrong

DEAN'S POV:

Dean had known you since you were a wailing baby. Your entire childhood he remembered you as a bubbly, energetic, happy girl. As you two grew he was constantly at your house. You always appointed yourself to be princess when you two would entertain make believe. When you had received your letter to hogwarts, he was ecstatic. However, when you two arrived you were pulled apart by the viscous throws of peer pressure and the hyenas of education.

He watched you through the years evolve from the fair confident princess he knew, to a reserved, quiet commoner.
One day as he roamed the halls that he knew so well, he saw his childhood best friend, and first love, crying in an empty corner.

"Y/n? Is that you?" He asked sinking to the cold stone floor as he tried to see your face.

No reply. He thought maybe if he put a hand on your shoulder you would look up, instead you flinched intensely.

"Did someone hurt you?" He asked concerned. You shook your head.

"It's- it's just I'm afraid that if I open up I'll be humiliated.. I guess." His heart broke hearing that.

"Humiliated? I would never humiliate you." He said sadly as he pulled you into a hug. You stayed stiff smiling sadly.

"But you already did." You sadly breathed as you stood up and walked away. Just before you left he caught a glimpse of your eyes. He saw that the beautiful bright eyes you once had were gone, and replaced with dullness.

Y/N'S POV:

And now she's grown up, works at a bar
She traded makeshift gowns
For serving rounds from sunrise 'til it's dark
And all her friends got someone to hold
But she's got no one there, still not prepared to make it on her own

"Y/n! You're late!" Your crazy boss yelled at you. You wanted to turn around and curse the man and tell him how lazy he is but you decided against it. You used to always stick up for yourself, you had even started to get better after Hogwarts, but being the youngest girl working at a bar made you bite your tongue.

"I'm so sorry, car troubles." You timidly said as he hovered over you.

"I don't care! One more time, and your gone. Get you apron on, Booth 4 needs a waitress." He yelled as he threw an apron towards you that wasn't even yours. You caught it and whipped it on, grabbing your order writing pad. You ran softly to the booth.

Looking down you said as you wrote, "What can i get you folks today?" You said slowly as you looked up.

"Y/n? Is that you?" You made eye contact with Ginny Weasley, the girl you had despised in school. Your eyes immediately shifted to see who was sitting beside her. Thank goodness, you thought.

"Harry! Ginny! How are you?" You were so relieved that it wasn't your childhood friend, although you didn't know why.

"You work at a bar!" Ginny exclaimed randomly. You were going to say ' and your mother named you ginerva!' But you didn't. Harry sat up straight. "What she meant to say, is that we're great. How about you?"
