Near the end of September, Percy saw on the notice board that 1st years had their first flying lessons. Percy was excited. His uncle James told him all about his time as chaser and how it felt. Percy imagined it felt a bit like riding a pegasus.

Everyone in first year were talking about the flying lessons and quidditch. Well everyone who had been on a broom and who grew up in wizarding families. Percy could tell Harry was nervous, and could only reassure him that he would be fine.

The day of their first flying lesson, as usual, Percy ate breakfast at the Gryffindor table and Hermione was boring everyone with tips she had read in Quidditch Through the Ages. She only stopped when the post arrived and Percy yelped diving under the table.

When the owls left, Percy got up and he had two letters on his plate as well as a parcel. He decided to open the letter with the familiar handwriting first. It was from his Godfather. Just checking in on him. The second letter was more like a note, written very fast and Percy could hardly understand it.

"Meet in Flitwick's class after your flying lesson. It'll be empty."

That was all it said, but Percy knew who it was from and grinned. Then he looked at the parcel. It was small and he had no idea who it was from. Carefully he picked it up and examined it. He didn't see nothing wrong with it, no indication that it was a trap.

Carefully he opened the package, and saw that it was a little figure. A figure of Hades and he knew it was from Nico. It was the Mytho Magic figure that Percy gave him from Bianca. Attached to the figure was a note in Greek.

"Chiron said you ask about me. I'm good. You were right. Camp isn't that bad. People don't hate me. I got a cabin too as well as others. Hope to see you soon."

Percy smiled and put the figure and letters in his bag. He was glad Nico was okay. Glad he was happy. Percy then noticed that Harry hadn't gotten anything. That meant that since they went down to Hagrid's he hasn't had a single letter.

Percy continued to eat breakfast, when Malfoy came over and snatched a remembrall out of Neville's hand. Percy, Harry and Ron all jumped to their feet at the same time, they were all hoping to finally have a reason to fight Malfoy, but McGonagall, was there in a flash.

"What's going on?"

"Malfoys, got Neville's remembrall." Harry told her.

Malfoy dropped the remebrall onto the table with a scowl. "Just looking." Then walked away.

"Mr. Jackson." She said getting Percy's attention. "If you would follow me. The head master would like to see you."

She turned and started walking away and Percy was left to scramble for his bag and chase after her.

"Professor, did I do something wrong?" He asked as he struggled to keep up with her large strides. "Is it because I have been sitting at the Gryffindor table? Oh Gods is it because I said he looked like Gandalf?"

Professor McGonagall didn't give any indication as to why the headmaster wanted to see him. Although she did look at him and almost smiled when he said he looked like Gandalf.

They reached a gargoyle in the corridor, seemingly minding his own business. McGonagall said the password (Chocolate frogs), and the gargoyle stepped aside as a statue of a Griffin appeared and a moving spiral staircase started going up.

McGonagall told Percy to go up and he listened. Within seconds he was staring at a double wooden oak door. He knocked.

"Come in." A voice called from inside.

Percy pushed one of the doors open, to large circular room, containing many portraits of people Percy assumed where previous head teachers. On a shelf sat the sorting hat, on a perch next to a desk sat one of the most beautiful bird Percy had ever seen, a phoenix. Behind the desk was the headmaster, eyes shining behind his half moon spectacles as he read the newspaper.
