it wasn't long that the two teens stayed in the calm atmosphere of the courtyard. no words were spoken as the cold gelid air bushed passed them, the creak of the swing accompanying them. but it wasn't long till one of them had to disturb the silence.
y/n wordlessly got up, looking back at tommy. she motioned her hand, telling him to follow. he cocked an eyebrow, putting his foot on the ground and standing on the damp grass. "where do you plan on going now?" the blonde asks as she strides down the halls sharply once more.
y/n sighs, "it's boring here. i'm going back out to the forest" she pauses, abruptly stopping in her tracks. tommy almost walked into her, if it weren't for him already paying attention. the brunette turned around, her eyes darting to his own. a certain look swirled in her eyes, one that he couldn't decipher. "that also means," she says, jabbing a finger to his chest, "that you could leave me alone now" she smiled, retracting her finger.
tommy scoffed and shook his head, the white walls surrounding them and the carpet beneath them. "why should i leave?" he huffed. y/n looked around, puffing her cheeks.
"cause," she spoke after a couple of silent seconds. "i have no need for you. why would you want to accompany me anyways?" she questioned with a hum.
"to get to know you" tommy simply answered. "and if i'm correct.." a smirk slowly spreading across his face, "you're going to ranboo's cottage" the blonde finished with a hum, tilting his head as he leaned forward.
y/n pursed her lips, indignant that he knew exactly where she wanted to go. the brunette scoffed, "even if i am, wouldn't we have enough time to talk?" she claims reasonably. "though, if you really want to see ranboo, i can't do much about that" she mumbled looking down at the crimson carpet.
tommy chuckled, "well we're equally bored. might as well head to ranboo's, right?" he explains. but before he could let y/n speak, he hummed, thoughts running through his brain. "erm.. shouldn't you figure out your way around here first? you'll get lost, y'know?" the blonde claims reasonably.
the brunette purses her lips, "no need. i already know the castles layout like the back of my hand" she explains simply, closing her eyes and leaning to her left. tommy cocked an eyebrow as he put a hand to his hip.
"how? you haven't even been here before" he questions, her eyes opening once more. she looked away, eyeing one of the vases.
"you'll understand later" she pauses, looking back into his eyes. "for now why don't we go and visit boo?" she smiles, trying to lighten the mood and change the topic. tommy was a bit skeptical, but nonetheless agreed.
y/n and tom were both silent as she led them down the echoing hallways. the blonde couldn't help but overthink the brunettes stay. more over, he didn't understand how she knew the place so well..
it bothered him highly but he would be sure to put it off soon. after all, he can't stay bothered visiting ranboo's. it would surely spark some empathy in the half and half and he didn't want to bare the questions that would come.
and yet, y/n was in the same position. she just didn't want to let ranboo worry either for her demeanor. it was just about getting close to tommy. if she slipped up there's no going back, everything just had to play out like that. but either way, she was glad that the blonde was accompanying her to ranboo's. it gives her more time to talk about them and what their friendship may become.
the walk was a bit awkward, but they slowly eased into it, tommy starting the conversation. "so.." he mumbled, making y/n turn her head slightly. she hummed, looking ahead of the dirt path. "you call him boo?" the blonde asks her.
