Chapter 5

I got Crossbows and Fans. I know fans feel weird but do look graceful and could be easily hidden.

Xavier had Knives and Nunchucks.

Lucas had a Gun and throwing weapons that are the star shaped blades aka Starknife. I must admit those were cool.

And now the training begins...

After 2 years

We 3 have finally ended all our training. We are closer than ever. They are my best friends. We are fit to go on missions and be on the front lines. Tomorrow is my birthday. 17th birthday. I feel giddy but also miss my parents a lot. All my birthdays I spend sulking on my parents. I can't help the fact that I miss them. They loved me. I love them.

Every birthday my new family which now consists of Xavier, Lucas, Vincent, Mark, Jax, Oliver (the guy who had brought me to Vincent) and Lily.

I look at the time on my phone. Yes, I got a phone for my 16th birthday and I am still using it. It was 10:13pm. 1 hour 45 mins for my birthday. I know I'm gonna have a 'surprise birthday party'. They weren't so good at hiding stuff or as they said 'I was a good detective'. I chuckled at that thought.

I was right now on the window seat in my room doodling in my diary. I slowly dozed off to sleep. It was a tiring day.

I woke up to Lucas shaking me up "Hey get out wanna eat some snacks?" it wasn't even surprising anymore. He was a major foodie he could eat whenever he had food in front of him. "Fiine, but you woke me up. I was having such a nice dream. You gotta make up for it."

"Yeah yeah sure." did I just see a glint of mischief in his eyes? Oh no! What is he up to??

We went out of the room tiptoeing so as to not wake up anyone. We slowly and quietly made our way to the kitchen. As soon as I switched the light on...

"SURPRISE!!!" I let out a small yelp and then realised what was happening. It's 12 am now. I turned 17!! Oh how I miss you mom and dad!

Everyone wished me "Happy Birthday" and gave their gifts. I decided to open them in the morning. I was still sleepy. After cutting an amazing chocolate cake I went back to sleep.

--- The next morning ---

I woke up with a smile on my face. I am 17 now. I looked at my photo of me with my parents when they were alive. We looked so happy. I had put it on my nightstand. I then saw the gifts piled up on my desk. My smile grew wider.

I went to the bathroom and did my daily routine. I wore a maroon crop top, black shorts and black converse.

I went downstairs and everyone was there for breakfast. They all wished me and I smiled and nodded. My favourite breakfast was made! Waffles!!

I quickly finished my breakfast and headed to my room. I had gifts that awaited me to open them. When I entered my room I looked at the gifts which were screaming as though 'come open us' so I obeyed. As soon as I was about to open my presents, Lucas and Xavier stepped in.

I gave them a small smile. They just came and Xavier sat on the edge of my bed while Lucas made himself comfortable in my bed with his shoes on!! With. His. Shoes. On. I threw the closest thing to me at him which was a cushion at him. "Get Your Shoes Off Of MY BED!!" "Okay okay sorry." he said, raising his hands as if surrendering. And removed his shoes.

I then got all my gifts up onto the bed. One by one I started opening. Let's see...

Vincent got me fairy lights. I loved them. I know it sounds weird but I love putting up fairy lights. I'm gonna set it in the walk-in closet.

Xavier got me my favourite sports shoes which I have been eyeing for a month because they are just so beautiful and comfortable but I didn't buy them.

Lucas got me a cute pendant. It was just a silver chain with a silver circle and a rose imprinting it. It was beautiful.

Mark got me a new fan set. They were all dark purple and the edges were sharp.

Jax got me a new crossbow set. It was a mix of dark purple and black it was amazing. I loved it!

Lily got me a black wrist watch. It was a simple black. Simple and classy.

Oliver Got me a black leather jacket with silver studs on it. I instantly fell in love with it.

All this time Lucas and Xavier were looking at my reactions.

"Ha! See I knew she would like mine the most! Didn't u love my gift among all of them, Cass??" Lucas said.

"Noo, she definitely liked mine the best! You tell us Nova whose gift you liked the best? Xavier said. He came up with the name 'Nova' and I have no clue why he kept it. So now my name on the missions would be 'Nova'. He said it was a different and unique name and that it suited me.

"Well I loved Oliver's the most. Like this can go with every outfit of mine!" they eyed each other as though having a mind conversation then burst out laughing. "Mind sharing your joke?" I said in a 'no-nonsense-tone'. They looked at me "I never thought you would actually say 'Matches my outfits'" Lucas said to which Xavier mimicked my facial expression. He was terrible at it. Then they both burst out again. Oh god. Why are we friends again?

We laid in my bed for a while. Just the calm, peaceful silence. I love my two best friends. "TRIO COME DOWN AT ONCE!" We heard a yell and went downstairs. Oliver was standing there. "Go to the office, boss wants to meet you three." he said with a serious face. Ok so it's something serious because it's occasional when he is serious.

We went to Vincent's room. And stood in front of him with the table separating us. "We have a problem. The enemy mafia that is the Twin Snake Mafia is plotting something against us. We need to go into their base and see what they are planning and also prepare ourselves for a war. The mafia is headed by the Twins." he said, showing us pictures of a boy and a girl who looked pretty similar yet quite different.

"The girl's name is Scarlet Venez Bismarck and the boy is Stuart Ron Bismarck. Scarlet is the head while Stuart is the right hand." Scarlet had Blue eyes and matching dyed blue hair which complemented her fair skin. Stuart shared the same skin tone with blue-green eyes and brown hair. They together looked like a powerful duo.

"Have we seen them? They look familiar to me." I said. "No we haven't. I am seeing them for the first time today." Xavier said. I brushed it off.

"You 2 are going to go in and be our spies." Vincent said, looking at me and Lucas. "Not you Xavier you have to be here and train others and also help us come up with a plan." Xavier made a face that read 'Whyyy?' but he knew better than to ask when Vincent was serious so he replied with "Yes father."

"Luke and Nova go to Ozul for your plans." "Yes boss." Lucas and I said in unison then went to Oliver. If you are thinking who Ozul and Luke are, well they are Oliver and Lucas's Mission names.
