Chapter 14

Second chapter about the Ball. Enjoyy!

I guess I read somewhere that you look at the person you like the most while laughing. Ooooh!

I saw Xavier walking towards us with another girl. Seriously? History repeating itself? Didn't Vince say that he and Lily met at a masquerade?

"Hey Xav and..." "Ruby."

"Ruby your dress is beautiful and I love your hair." She had red hair tied up in an updo.

"Thank you." she smiled and showed off her white teeth.

The whole time Xavier was looking at her. "I think you havent met Lucas yet Bee." Bee? Thats what he nicknamed her? God this is soo cringy. I forced a smile and nodded towards Lucas. 

Why is this so weird? "Hey Hillie." Oh gosh not another Dumbo. I mentally rolled my eyes.

"Hey Stuart."  " I just wanted to ask have you made a decision yet?" 

"I am gonna ask a question to answer that. What will happen if I join Twin Snake." Lucas joined me. Oh right here comes the overprotective guy. He nodded at Stuart. 

"If you think we would attack Blood Rose then the answer is no. Ask whatever you want to."

"What will my position be?"

"You would be the 3rd in command."

"Where will I stay?"

 "You can stay with us." He grinned.

"Will I still be in the town?"

"For living yes you may, but for missions we would send you out."

"Can I meet my family?"

"Of course I will ask your aunt and uncle when they are free. They were really very worried about you."

"I didn't mean that family Stuart. I meant here. Blood Rose. Vince, Lily, Xav, Lucas. I love them. As much as this boosts this fellow here's ego. I love him." I said nudging Lucas's arm. I looked at him and he was having a smirk on his face. 

Suddenly we heard a gun shot. Of course no ball can go normally and  there had to be a dramatic event. Good thing I have my fan. 

I crouched down along with Lucas and Stuart. We crawled towards a table. I took out the knife strapped on my thigh and got ready for some action. I peeped above the table. The room was a mess. Vince is not gonna like this at all. 

I heard a crying at some feet away from me. I saw Ruby. She was crying. I guess she was new to this. I looked at Lucas and he knew what I was doing. He always knew. "Cover me." I said.

I got up and ran towards her. I deflected all the bullets fired at me with a swipe of the fan. Damn I am getting good! I quickly ran over and kneeled next to her. "Hey you are okay. I am right here." I said rubbing her back. She sobbed in my shoulder and that's when I noticed why she was actually crying.

She had blood on her leg. She had been shot. "GOT HIM!" I heard someone yell. I looked at the direction and Oliver was holding a masked man with his hands behind. I looked over at Lucas and Xavier and Stuart. They were safe except for the bullet wound on Xavier.

I looked over at Vince and Lily and they seemed to be fine. I quickly ushered Ruby to the infirmary. the doctor came immediately and tended to it. The whole time Ruby had me in a death grip and was continuously sobbing. I kept rubbing her back and saying it would be alright.

Finally the for wrapped her leg and gave her some pain killers. I saw Xavier walk in. He straight away came beside her and took off her mask. I finally had a complete view of her face. Her green eyes were red from crying. She had freckles and a button nose. "You are beautiful! Anyway i need to go and check up on the traitor." She nodded and mumbled a thank you. I gave her a reassuring smile and went to the ball room again. Yes this place had an in built infirmary. 

I didn't take off my mask. I didn't want to show the guy my face. Not yet anyway. I heard some painful screaming and I knew Vince had started taking out information from him. I went into the room and saw Oliver holding the guy with his hands behind the chair. Jax had positioned himself in front of him and i saw his knuckles and knew he was punching the man. Vince stood half leaning on a table and Lily next to him. She may seem like a person who would be all sweet and sunlight but you hurt her and she will show you what destruction means. Thats what I liked about her.

I went up to the guy and while looking at him asked, "What did he say till now?" 

"He won't speak up. He really is loyal but he knows better than to keep shut now."

I bent down to his eye level and looked at him straight in the eye. He was smirking. "A girl like you and her shouldn't even be watching this. It would be too much don't you think?"

"He did not." I heard Jax from beside me. Lucas entered the room. "What did he say?" He asked.

"That me and Lily should not be here because we are girls." I said cracking my knuckles. Lucas chuckled. "What are you waiting for go on." Lucas said. "You are free to do whatever Cass. No one says that about my wife and daughter." I heard Vince. I felt proud when he referred to me as his daughter. 

With that I landed a punch on his face.
