A knock on his door interrupted Bryten's Bible study. He marked his place and answered the door. He was surprised to see Tinsley and Sammy standing there. Tinsley looked upset and his heart went out for her. He wondered if she was having trouble adjusting. She had been here for a few days and everyone reported she was doing well, but she didn't look to be.

“Hello girls, can I help you?” he said trying not to jump to conclusions.

“I didn't know who else to tell.” Sammy whispered.

“Tell what Sammy?” he asked as he ushered the women into his office. It was only then he noticed that Sammy was physically pulling Tinsley.

“Tinsley got hurt.” she said as her eyes filled with tears.

“Tinsley got hurt here?” he asked as he reached forward and pulled Tinsley towards him.

“No, someone else hurt her and she won't tell anyone.” Sammy admitted.

“Tinsley is this true?” Bryten asked as he turned her to face him.

Her sobs were all the conformation he needed.

“Sammy thank you for telling me. You did the right thing.” he assured Sammy as he lead her out of the office.

“Yes sir.” Sammy said. Bryten felt bad for her. He knew she and Tinsley had gotten closer over the past few days and he knew Sammy probably struggled with telling anyone.

“What's wrong Tinsley?” he asked as he flipped on the video monitor behind his desk.

Tinsley stood there and continued to cry, but she wouldn't say anything.

“Sweetie, tell me what happened?” he asked.

She shook her head.

“Honey please tell me. I don't want to have to physically check you.” he said softly.

“M-my legs."

“You hurt your legs?” he asked as he buzzed for a nurse on duty to come in.

“S-someone e-else did.” she cried.

“Can you tell me who?” he asked.

She shook her head.

Bryten looked over and saw Kasey standing outside his office door. He opened the door and allowed her to enter his office.

“Did you call for a nurse?” she asked.

He nodded. “I need a gentle seditave.” he whispered softly.

Kasey looked shocked and he understood why. He never sedated a patient unless it was a dire emergency.
