Bryten pushed the button on the elevator and headed up to the apartments. Tisney had forgotten her hairdyrer and he had gone back to get it for her. He flipped the device over in his hands. It was a hot pink color with green circles on it. It didn't look very big or very powerful. He shrugged. Women and their hair toys.

The elevator opened and Bryten stepped out in to chaos.

“Bryten said no!” Kasey yelled.

“You don't have to tell him!” Jacob argued.

“You can't be deceitful!” Rose scolded.

“I know!” he sighed.

“What are you going to do if your allergic?” Eva asked.

“I will still love him!” Jacob argued.

Bryten sighed. What was going on now?

He peeped around the corner and threw his head back when he saw the black bundle of fuzz playing with Kasey's scrub leg.

He stepped out and crossed his arms. “I said no.” he stated.

Everyone jumped and looked at him. “Jacob did it.” Eva, Rose and Kasey all said as they stepped back and pointed at Jacob.

“You can not keep it. You have to take it back.”

“Bryten... That would be...”

“No.” Bryten said as he shook his head.

“but..”

“No.”

“I want to keep it!”

“No.”

“It's my house!” Jacob argued.

“Jacob, you are NEVER home. We work twelve hour days, six days a week. Who would watch the cat?” Bryten asked.

“but my apartment is sad and empty.” Jacob protested.

“then get a plant.”

“You could date a patient.” Rose suggested.

“No, he cant!” Bryten said in exasperation. His mother was convinced she was going to marry all four of them off by the end of the year.

“Please let me keep him.” Jacob begged.
