The Note Girl

After those filmy texts from KK Kiaan could have really believed that she is the note- girl... had it not been for the fact that she had called him soon after getting the invitation.

" Hi Kiaan? Ummm....ek baat thi...hope you won't mind."

Kiaan did not know what she wanted to say so he was not sure whether he would mind or not. Besides KK was the prime suspect for the note girl thing...so he just said, " What is it?"

" Dekh na...last month my mom caught me with my boyfriend...in a little compromising ... umm ... chhor... We were meeting chupke chupke in the park near our house."( Yeah! Having a girlfriend or a boyfriend in school is still seen as a no no in many Indian homes. Parents do not look at it very kindly. Some are okay with it. Though of course school kids do fall in love and meet and date etc etc. Some eventally get married as well. All this dating takes place clandestinely in schools. But of course, later on say in college it is okay. )

" Oh! Someone from school?" Kiaan asked. After all there were a host of boys interested in KK in school.

" Nahi re. He goes to a different school. He lives near my house."

" Okay."

" So, then my mom created a big ruckus. She complained to Rohit's mom - Rohit is my boy friend's name- aur hum dono ko yeh maar pari ki puch mat."

" Oh ho! Why are you telling me all this?"

"Batati hoon. We have been barred from meeting. I was wondering if he comes along with me to your party would it be okay. Mil nahi pa rahe hai...mil lenge tere party mein."

" Of course. Why not? Bring him along."

" Ek kaam kar. Main ek address bejti hoon. Please send an e- mail to him. He can show it to his mom and then come. Main bhejungi toh Lalita Pawar will know." ( Lalita Pawar is a old hindi movie vamp who played the role of wicked and scheming MILs)

"Okay done and done."

" Thanks buddy. I am sure all the girls will swoon seeing him. He looks like looks like Ranbir Kapoor side se and Tiger Sheroff samne see. Oooooo...kitna cute hai....Pura hero style...Pata hai?..." began KK. She was in her mood if telling him her whole prem kahani. But Kiaan was not in mood.

" Okay. Some other time KK. Got to go, " he hung up and then with some relief he scratched her name out of his suspect list. If she was the note-girl she wouldn't have mentioned her boyfriend to him. He was glad KK was out. She surely was not his type.

Kiaan was keen to locate his note-girl and he had a different plan today. He had decided to put three four peonies inside a bunch of roses and have a guessing game. If that did not work out a game of antakshari would surely make it clear. He thought he had a fool proof plan. But it did not strike him at that stage that he had not invited eight girls - three of them prime suspects!

Anyway in evening Arif was his first friend to arrive. Just after he reached Palash and Tanya's pic flashed in their group. Nyasa came in soon after and caught Arif staring at Palash and Tanya's picture.

" In logon mein kuch chal raha hai kya?" She asked.

Arif sucked the air around him rather audiably and shrugged," I don't know. But they look good together."

Nyasa just did a," hurrump," and began walking away when Arif aired his thought rather loudly.
" Where could she be going on a saturday evening all dressed up? May be she's seeing someone."
