Description- Kirishima is a lovely shark merman, so curious about the life on the surface, when he's face to face with one.
Genre- Fluff with a bit of Angst
Kirishima's POV
All of the other merpeople were playing, and having fun under the water. I was seen as an "outcast", or "weird". Why? Well, because I'm so curious about the life on the surface. There are tales about it, but I want to know if there true. The separate-tail monster can't be real, right? That's what everyone thought but I want to know for sure. One day I'm gonna go up to the surface, meet the separate-tail monster, and friendship it to death. I looked back at the other merpeople, then back at the surface.
I got to know. I started to swim up and poked my head out of the water. Oh, fishsticks, was it cold up here. I saw something on the land sand. Oh! That rhymes! Anyways. I started to swim towards it. As I got closer I could see that it was a separate-tail monster, but he didn't look as horrifying as the pictures. Blonde spikey hair and dark red eyes. Not the spear wielding monster we were told about. As I got closer, I started to get more nervous. What of he hurts me, sure it'll probably leave a bad ass scar, but I don't like getting hurt, it hurts.
He seemed to have noticed me and stepped into the water. Shit they can swim, we were told that use things called butts on the water. I ducked most of my head under the water, still have my eyes out of it and to look at him. He had stopped moving.
He seemed to have been looking at my tail. I looked at my tail as well. My light grey tail with white underneath it and spikes poking out of it, wagged gracefully under the water. I looked back up at him and showed him my tail. Sure other merpeople thought I was weird for not having scales like them, or having a fin on my back. But he seemed interested in it. I looked at his tail too. They weren't like the drawings either. They didn't have spikey fins on them and the end of his tail had this weird looking fin. I got closer and poke at his tail, sure it was probably rude, but I couldn't resist. He moved and almost hit but I ducked back into a deeper part of the water because it surprised me. He fell down and his tail went even more spread.
Well, the nice thing to know was that he also didn't have any scales, but it seems to have a tail like an axolotl's head cause it has hair on it. I went up closer, I got in between his tail and looked at him. I tilted my head to examine him. He had something weird on his chest and tail but I was more focused on his face. He seemed surprised and he was panting a lot.
I was about to get closer when a spear went straight pass between us. "Get the mermaid!" Some other separate-tailed monsters yelled, running down towards us. I didn't want to die or get into a fight so I swam back into the water. But I didn't make it far when a spear came through my tail. It hurt a lot and my tail was bleeding, but I needed to get away, quickly.
Bakugou's POV
That mermaid was so close to me. "You alright captain Kacchan?" Deku asked. "Yeah you got pretty closed from being eaten by a mermaid" Dunce face followed. "But did you see the size of that thing, it was huge, we could've gotten more profit" Pink Cheeks chirped. "That thing didn't have scales, nothing much but a hideous mermaid" Soy Sauce explained. "We'll meet you back at the ship" Deku said as everyone followed him back.
I began to rethink everything. That mermaid was so...fucking cute. His adorable ass curious face when he looked at me and when he titled his head, and god those hands were large and rough like sand paper, that black hair that went down to his shoulders, and that large tail.
I got up and put by boots back on and my hat and began to walk to the hill, it was by the water, and no one goes there.
When I arrived there I saw the mermaid again. He was sitting down and holding his tail, it had a spear through it. One of the mates must have hit him while he was swimming away. Geez, it looked like it hurt. I walked over and he instantly turned his head to see me. I walked closer and he tried to protect himself, thinking I was going to hurt him, but he moved his tail and it must have hurt cause he grabbed his tail again. He looked at me, worried, with some tears in his eyes.
I crouched down and opened my satchel to grab some bandages. I scooted closer and grabbed his tail. That same mesmerizing sand paper feel to it. I rubbed it to try and relax him. It seemed to have worked. I grabbed the spear but he instantly grabbed my hand tightly. His hands cover most of my forearm. I looked at him, instead of meir panic, I was now calm. I lend him my other hand, hoping he would take it. He slowly ungripped my arm and one of his hands took a hold of mine. His easily engulfed mine, but that didn't matter at the moment.
I slowly pulled the spear and he gripped my hand with, now both hands, and very tightly. I stopped to give him a breather.
"You're doing great" I reassured him. He smiled at me. He leaned his head on my shoulder, and although when someone else did it, I would get pissed, but he was different, I was more comfortable with him doing it.
"You ready?" I asked. He nodded. I, again, started to slowly pull the spear out of his tail, he gripped my hand tightly again. Then eventually I pulled it out. He loosened his grip and started to calm his breathing as I covered his wound.
Once I finished he let go of my hand and looked at his tail. "It's like new!" The first time I heard his voice this entire time. His voice was sweet, and his teeth were sharp. A very different contrast. "Thank you!" He said hugging me. "It's no problem" I said, patting him on the back. I took out my watch. "Shit, I have to get going" I tried to stand up but he was super heavy. "Where are you going?" He asked. "I have to go to London, it's far from here" I explained. "Will you come back?" He tilted his head and looked at me sadly.
I wasn't really planning on coming back, but, I can't say no to that sad cute face. "Don't worry, I will" I said, patting his dry hair. He let go of me and was about to go back into the water, but this time I stopped him. I took off my captain's hat and put it on his head. "Goodbye" I said. He looked at the hat, then at me. "Bye" he said before diving into the water with my hat. I got up and ran back to my ship.
"Where's your hat?" Four eyes asked me. "Lost it, it's fine, I'll get a new one" I lied. I hope I get to see that mermaid when we come back...
Kirishima's POV
This is an amazing new souvenir. I swam down to the sunken butt and looked around at my collection of separate-tailed monster stuff. I placed the new thing on my head, just like he did. It felt nice and it reminded me of him. I hope he comes back soon...
