Genre- fluff and angst
Length- 1230
Third POV-
Everyday for the last couple of months, Bakugou would receive a rose with a little message tied to the stem from a "secret admirer".
He, of course, keeps the roses. He doesn't really care about who sent them, he's busy trying to be the best to worry about a relationship, but roses are his favorite so he keeps them in his room.
The squad would notice how the number of flowers kept growing and growing. Commenting how cute it was. The blond just ignored them.
Suddenly, someone from another class asked to meet him in one of the classrooms. She expressed her emotions for him. But was strictly turned down.
"But I-"
"I don't have time for that shit, no exceptions," he left her there to be heartbroken. It may have been an asshole move, but if he wasn't straight with his answer, it was only going to turn south for the both of them.
There wasn't a rose by his door.
"Good riddance" he thought, but that wasn't exactly how he felt. So that girl must've been his "secret admirer". But for some reason, he missed the roses coming in. It was strange, he would have to get used to not secretly being excited to come back to his dorm and see another rose placed on the floor.
That same day he was passing by Denki's room when he heard him, and others ask.
"So you're not going to do it?" Bakugou pressed himself against the wall to listen. Should he be eavesdropping. No. No he shouldn't. But his body was moving on it's own, like he was being puppeteered towards the wall to listen.
"Someone else confessed and he said he wasn't looking for a relationship...no exceptions..." Was that...Kirishima? Was he upset by what he said? But why?
"Are you going to continue placing those roses and notes?" Kirishima was the secret admirer!?
"No..." He mumbled. "No exceptions," he heard what he could assumen was the note that was always attached to a rose, the one he was probably going to receive at his door, being crinkled up and tossed.
The blond covered his mouth. He fucked up. He heard footsteps coming towards the door and he quickly darted away just in time for Kirishima to walk out.
--
Bakugou laid in his bed, just thinking about what he had learned. He didn't know what to do. He reached over to the bedside table and opened up the bottom drawer which had layers of line paper inside. They were the notes. Bakugou kept every single on of them.
/Roses can be red, violets aren't blue, your going to be the best hero, I believe in you/ -your secret admirer♡
/Everyday when I see you, it just gets better, I want to experience that for the rest of our lives/ -your secret admirer♡
/Everytime I catch your gaze, my heart just explodes from your attention/ -your secret admirer♡
Every compliment, every note, every rose. It was Kirishima's love, his affection, how he felt. But Bakugou lit up a match and burned it.
He wanted to apologize. Say that he was sorry. That he loved him. But he already turned down that girl, besides...no exceptions. He sighed. Why did he say that!? He just didn't want a relationship during highschool because he wants to focus on his studies. But...he wants Kirishima too.
He's always wanted Kirishima. He just wanted to be together after highschool, where he could afford to take Kirishima places, anywhere the redhead would like. Give Kirishima everything he needs, anything he wants.
But he just shattered those dreams. Kirishima might lose love in him. And he doesn't want that.
Bakugou didn't realize how much he was upsetting himself until a tear raced down his cheek. He didn't care at that moment. He broke down, let everything fall out. The regret, the hurt, everything fell from his eyes and into the notes, soaking the paper.
He covered his face to prevent the tears from ruining the notes and let out a silent sob. Is Kirishima doing the same as he is? Crying on his bed because of what he had said?
He shouldn't have ever said it, he should have phrased it better.
/I'm not looking for a relationship right now/
/I'm not interested in you/
/I'm waiting til after highschool to start dating/
All those he could've said but he had to say it the worse way possible. And now, Kirishima is hurt, heartbroken. He never wanted to hurt Kirishima. That was never on his mind. But he did. He hurted him.
He couldn't just go over there and apologize. But...
--
Kirishima woke up the next morning, got dressed for class, was about to walk out his door when he saw a rose and a note on his floor. He looked around before picking up the rose and opening the letter attached to it.
/I'm sorry that I've hurted you, it's the last thing I'd ever wanted to do. I meant that I wasn't looking for a relationship until I graduated. So I'm able to focus on studying to be the greatest. I want to be able to take you out places, anywhere you want, to give you everything you need. But I can't do that now, so please, before fall out of love with me, promise that you'll be waiting till we graduate/ -your admirered
Some darker splotches indicated he had been crying while writing this. So everything he had been writing was true. Bakugou loved him, just wants to focus on school, wants to focus on being great.
Kirishima flipped the paper around to see that there was a bit more written on the back.
/You're my number one goal, but I want to focus on my second because you're ready to be achieved/
Kirishima felt himself crying again. He had been crying last night due to what Bakugou said, but this letter confirms that he still has a chance. Kirishima turned around to open the door and leave, but when he did open the door, Bakugou was standing there. His eyes were still a bit red from crying, what Kirishima assumes.
The redhead ran into the blond's arms and surround Bakugou with his own, tears staining the front of Bakugou's uniform. Kirishima felt tears fall into his hair, Bakugou was crying too. Kirishima held Bakugou closer as the blond hid his face in red hair.
"Do you really mean what you written?" The redhead asked. Bakugou nodded. "I don't think I can wait that long..."
"Please?" The blond lifted Kirishima's face so they were looking at each other. Flushed faces and red eyes looking at one another.
"It's almost third year, straight after fourth we can- move in together and do-anything, fucking anything you want," he connected their foreheads together, both of them closing their eyes just to focus on their sense of touch. The hand on the redhead's cheek, their foreheads together, and arms wrapped around the other.
"Really? We will?" The blond nodded again.
"Anything."
--
After graduation, true to Bakugou's words, they moved in together, worked as heros most of the time. But after, they went out on dates and cuddled up together in their home, eat Bakugou's cooking together, and get all lovey dovy. Anything Kirishima wanted. No exceptions.
