Hi :D
Lesson Seven: Keep a Schedule
Oh boy, this one's a tough one.
Guys, I'm not saying you have to bring your day down to an organized list and planner. I know that's not for everyone, even if planners personally do help me myself.
I'm saying be consistant.
I won't lie to you guys, this ones is HARD. I'm still working at it myself. But as I've worked on it, I've noticed it's become easier to function. When you're consistent with your sleep schedules, eating routines, exercies routines, and others, it helps. Your body comes to realize what certain times mean, and it keeps you altogether more healthy, more happy, and in better condition.
Here are a few things you should consider keeping a schedule for.
1 - Sleeping
Wow, this one is obvious, right? But I'm not kidding. When I finally got my lazy butt to stop sitting at a computer or reading so late into the night and getting to bed at a consistant and early-ish time, it made my life easier.
Suddenly, getting up at 6:30 was less of a struggled. Suddenly, running became so much easier to feel ready for and recove from. Suddenly, I was feeling more alert throughout my day.
It's crazy! Here's a challenge:
BED TIME BED TIME :D Get to be before 10 o'clock. And I mean lights out devices off curled up and ready to sleep by 10 o'clock. Do this for a week. If you do it for a week, I'll give you a high five. Do it for two weeks and you get a fist bump. Do it for a month, I'll give you extra virtual hugs and tell you to go buy a treat.
Set up your own rewards for completing those goals. Once you do that, don't stop! Keep it up!
2 - Free Time
As I mentioned in the Love for Yourself lesson, taking care of yourself is important. And what better way to do that than to schedule a time meant for you and you only. Set aside the same time everyday to do something.
For example. As my discord may already know, I get up everyday from 6:30 - 6:00 just so I can write. That's right. I dedicate thirty minutes of my time to writing every morning before getting to the important stuff.
Here's you're challenge:
Set aside 30 minutes to an hour everyday dedicated to you time. Try to make it the same time everyday. Want to accomodate our sleeping challenge as well? Make that hour of free time right before you head to bed.
3 - Meditation
This is one I need to do better on myself. Meditating is a skill that not only relaxes you, but gives you time to think. Meditating is used by a lot of people to help bring greater clarity, peace, and understanding to their lives.
Challenge:
Ten minutes every day, the same time, for two weeks. Ten minutes to meditate. That means find a relaxing pose such as laying down or crossing your legs, close your eyes, and relax.
Focus on your breathing. Turn your mind to something peaceful. See what results it'll yeild.
I love you all! This one certainly is probably the hardest one on here. Changing habits is hard, and developing them can be hard too. But you can do it. I know you guys can. You're amazing. I doubt this could keep you back for longer than a day or two : )
I'll see you guys tomorrow!
