The Infirmary Incident
drizzlymoonSummary:
''Well for one, boys can't do stuff with each other like kiss-''.
''What's a kiss?'', Inosuke cut in.
Zenitsu's face went blank for a moment, painfully annoyed at having been interrupted, yet at the same time amazed that his wild friend didn't even know what a kiss was. It was definitely starting to look like he would be here a long time.
Notes:Yeah soooo this was my first time writing something remotely spicy, but also my first time writing a fic. Still though, hope you enjoy:) I tried my best.
Work Text:
Searching for a place to hide, a desperate Zenitsu dashed frantically around the Butterfly Estate in fear for his life. Why, oh why had he taken it? After all, it was obvious that the negatives of this scheme far outweighed the positives. In fact, he was practically certain that there would be no happy ending to such a dilemma.
Forcing his legs to suddenly change direction, Zenitsu managed to narrowly avoid crashing into Aoi, who'd been collecting the day's laundry. As much as he'd love to stop and apologise, his current situation did not provide him with the time to do so, opting instead to yell out a ''Sorry!" as he sped past her and into the Butterfly Mansion to escape the feral beast that was hot on his tail.
As he took off down a narrow corridor, Zenitsu glanced down and grimaced at the monstrosity in his hands, wondering how anyone could bear to wear it as much as its owner did. The smelly thing was covered in thick brown bristles and a pair of shiny blue eyes, staring in opposite directions were nestled above a thick snout, two small tusks protruding from its grey-lipped mouth.
Making a sharp left, Zenitsu couldn't help but wonder what might happen if his crazed pursuer actually managed to catch him. At the very least he expected the other to start a brawl, however, on reviewing the current situation, he was almost certain the stupid pig would kill him on sight.
Unfortunately, Zenitsu's thoughts were interrupted a moment later when his body suddenly slammed into something hard and he fell onto the wooden floor with a thud, pain stinging him in his side.
''Zenitsu, are you alright?'', a familiar voice filled his ears and he slowly looked up to find none other than his good friend, Tanjiro. His kind face was etched with visible concern as he extended a hand to Zenitsu who took it gratefully, muttering a 'thank you'.
As he pulled Zenitsu up, Tanjiro noticed the furry object which had fallen onto the ground at the same time his friend did.
Inosuke's mask?
However, before he had the chance to ask Zenitsu about it, a loud roar boomed from around the corner causing both of them to jump. With a terrified squeal, Zenitsu turned around, snatched up Inosuke's mask, and bolted down the corridor leaving Tanjiro standing alone and very confused.
Only a few seconds later, another shout came from around the corner, this time followed by Inosuke who was both aggravated and shirtless. Although, that was no surprise.
The long-haired boy looked as if he was about to give chase to Zenitsu, but instead stopped short in front of Tanjiro, softly panting and covered in a thin sheen of sweat.
Surprised, Tanjiro looked to the wild boy and then down the corridor, still trying to make sense of the situation when Inosuke suddenly turned to look at him, brows knitted together and his green eyes shimmering furiously with focus and excitement.
''Where is he, Kentarou?'' he shouted, impatience clearly settling in.
Ignoring the fact that Inosuke had once again gotten his name wrong, by 'he', Tanjiro imagined he could only be referring to Zenitsu, lifting a finger to point in the direction of the infirmary, where the other boy seemed to have run off to.
