Franklin Grae Higgs exuded Hufflepuff qualities, even as a young child, though it came as a shock when she was placed there. Her entire magical bloodline was filled with Slytherins, she wasn't supposed to be a Hufflepuff— so imagine her father's surprise when he got an owl with the news. Contrary to popular belief, Albert Higgs, Kei's father was more understanding than most purely Slytherin households; especially with the promise of high marks and quidditch. In all fairness, they kept up half of their deal, nearly top of all their classes and friends with everyone they met; though quidditch was more of a secondary thought. Unlike her older brother, Terence Higgs, Kei was never placed on the house team as academics held a higher value to them.

Along with that, Kei was never one to follow rules. And the Higgs were big on rules. Throughout her childhood, she was always the wild card of the group: Never complied with the rules, completely non-conforming, always in her own world, but still kind, respectful, and loyal to a fault. Even a mellow, serious little boy didn't slow her down; Tiberius Moody had been their best friend since they both could remember— mainly due to the fact they were the only children similar in age at the Ministry Events their fathers went to. There was never a second thought on where the other was; if one were missing, they could probably be found with the other! But Kei loved games and thrived on attention, Tib (or Reese's, as she called him) did not.

Throughout the first few years at Hogwarts, Kei learned that attention wasn't always good. Being the trusting girl they are, Kei was usually sought out for comfort and friendship as she was as loyal as they came. Naive in the sense they trusted all of their friends, only to be deceived by someone she believed was a good person, Kei got hurt– badly. But life happened, Hogwarts is a place to find out more about yourself and it isn't always what one thinks it is. They only hope that their morals and judgement are strong enough to keep her where she is: Happy with their friends and safe within the walls of Hogwarts. No place is safer than Hogwarts— at least, that's what is said.
