Since Kei didn't have a NEWTs exam that block, they were meant to be patrolling the halls. OWLs were currently taking place in the Great Hall and Kei grew tired and hungry, lunch was pushed back for the tests. Giving up on patrol, she decided to head off to the kitchens to ask the house-elves for a snack when she caught the troublesome trio sneaking around the corridor whispering in hushed voices.
"Aren't you lot supposed to be in exams?" the Head Girl asked.
The trio froze.
"We. . . we finished early," Ron tried.
"Yeah, it doesn't matter if you finished early, you shouldn't be allowed out of the Hall until everyone is finished," she proposed. "Or unless something happened."
"Harry didn't feel well," said Hermione, to which Harry nodded profusely.
"Then why isn't he in the Hospital Wing?" Ron opened his mouth to talk, but before he could, Kei added, "and before you say you're on your way, the Wing is in the opposite direction."
They froze once more, caught in their lies.
"Now, before you try and lie again, just tell me what you're up to. I've been at this school long enough to know you three are always up to something," she sighed.
Harry didn't falter his furious gaze, it wasn't directed at Kei but they knew it was the reason behind Ron and Hermione's nervousness.
Kei rolled her eyes, "listen, I am on your side, I understand, but I can't help you if you don't tell me what's going on."
Hermione looked at Ron who glanced over to Harry, but none of them responded to her.
"I'm not part of Umbridge's little tattle-telling squad, so I'm not going to rat you guys out," they sighed. "Being Head Girl means I can either help you or hurt you, it's your choice. Tell me what the problem is and I can try to help you. I'm being honest."
The trio shared a look and stepped down to meet Kei, explaining their plan of breaking into Umbridge's office once more with some help from their friends. Though the plan had originally sounded ridiculous, Kei helped her fellow DA members in their plans of getting into the High Inquisitor's office– though they didn't specify what they needed to do in there, she understood the importance of it and knew it shouldn't be something idiotic like stealing one of her cat plates or stupid pink pillows.
Taking their positions, Kei used her Head Girl status to get people out of the corridor, threatening to take away House points and reporting them to Umbridge. Ginny Weasley and Luna Lovegood gave the nastiest faces they would and assisted Kei in having people leave.
"This corridor is closed! Go around by the swivelling staircase, Headmistress Umbridge's orders," Kei ordered.
Ginny and Luna shouted about some kind of Garroting Gas. Their plan worked much better than intended as news about the gas spread like wildfire. Standing guard, Kei continued to help divert the students away from the corridor of Umbridge's office, only to see Tiberius dragging his feet. A nervous smile made its way onto her face in his presence.
"Hey Reese's, how's it going?" Kei forced a large grin on her face trying to ignore the look of pure annoyance.
"Frankie, please tell me you're not—"
"I'm not doing anything," she cut him off. "I'm Head Girl and there's just a small problem and I'm diverting—"
"C'mon, cut the shit, what're you up to?"
Knowing she could never blatantly lie to Tiberius, Kei told him what she was going and explained how she caught Harry and his friends, along with the importance of keeping people away from Umbridge's office. But just as she was going to tell Tiberius Harry's plan, Kei noticed a little silver-haired ferret rounding the corner with devious eyes.
