"There is absolutely no way you'll— Georgina!" Kei gasped, barely blocking Gina's hex.
"Less talking and more—" Gina began, but was cut off by blocking the jinx Kei had sent her way in return.
"What were you saying?" laughed Kei as the pair continued to duel one another.
With the weather beginning to cool, the two decided they'd take advantage of the randomly warm day and have a friendly duel in the butterfly garden. It was a normal occurrence the two girls partook in— they both loved to duel, so they practised regularly. Onlookers always said a duel between the two would never end unless the other died; which would never happen because they were best friends.
"Gina, stop stepping forward. You're too predictable," a voice said from behind their book.
"Yeah, I'd like to see you–" Gina grunted and threw a jinx of her own, before continuing, "duel me, Silas."
"I'd rather not," Silas shook his head. "You'd get too upset once I beat you."
"Oh, really now?"
"Sil, stop egging Gina on," Kei laughed.
"I'm not. I'm simply stating that Gina's movements are far too predictable," he scoffed. "I've only witnessed this single duel and I would most likely defeat Gina just before she cursed me with an Unforgivable."
Kei gasped and stopped blocking to look at Silas. He raised his eyebrow as though he had said something quite normal.
"She would nev—"
"But I would," Gina laughed.
"Not on me," said Kei in a silky sweet tone before sending an unexpected Jelly Legs Jinx. Gina groaned as her legs buckled from underneath her.
Cheering, Kei raised a brow at Silas in means of challenging him to a duel, but he simply held up his hands in defence.
"I'd rather not," they shook their head and sighed, opening up their book once more.
"You're so boring, Silly," she pouted.
Silas spoke without looking up, "ask Tiberius."
Kei sighed, "I would but he's busy in the library."
"Wow," Gina said sarcastically, "since when is the library outside?"
They furrowed their brows as Gina pointed behind them. Kei turned over her shoulder to see Tiberius with an annoyed look on his face. He was stomping over to the garden and slowed his step at Gina's body on the ground.
"What're you doing down there, Lestrange?" he asked.
"Just enjoying the view, obviously."
"Obviously," Tiberius mumbled under his breath and addressed his best friend, "you'll never guess what just happened in the entrance hall."
"Oo, do tell," she answered as she took the spot next to Gina on the grass.
Tiberius looked from Gina to Kei and shook his head knowingly. He quickly looked over to Silas, who looked as though they could care less about what the two girls were doing, and spoke,
"Alastor turned Malfoy into a ferret."
"A what?" Kei's eyes widened comically. Human transfiguration, she thought to herself. "Why?"
"Dunno. I was walking down the stairs and saw him levitating this white thing— turns out the white thing was a student in animal form."
Kei and Tiberius shared an estranged look and only broke eye contact when a soft chuckle was heard from the bench. The three of them looked up to see Silas hiding his smile behind his book.
