"... and a burger with extra cheese, please! Oh and a lot of ketchup too!", Fluke passed his order to the waitress waiting for them.
"But you don't like ketchup!", Ohm commented out of the blue.
It wasn't his intention to voice his thoughts, it just flowed down to his throat and ran out from his mouth without permission. They didn't know each other for too long, but a long argument about how outrageous it is to put ketchup in the pizza made Ohm assume Fluke didn't like it at all.
"No, it's okay! I like it with burger and fries!", Fluke explained like it wasn't a big deal.
And it shouldn't be, right? What if he likes to eat ketchup with a burger and despises it on pizza? It was just another thing to add on the long list of things the mundane didn't know about the demon at all. Apparently he would never understand that creature. By the way, should he try to do it? A lot of questions were making it hard for the mundane to breathe.
Ohm let out a sigh.
"Is everything alright?", Fluke asked with a furrowed brow after noticing the detective seeming to be a bit annoyed.
As the two men drown in complete silence, one staring at the window view and the other one looking at the first trying to find out answers for his weird behavior, the waitress cleared her throat and then said:
"Ok, noted! Anything else?", the girl asked briefly looking at the notebook page filled with food names and back to the clients who didn't look like they could be capable of eating all that at once and being okay, but they had insisted it wasn't an order to go, they would eat there at the diner.
"I'm leaving first. Stay as much as you want.", Ohm said simply standing up and leaving the diner without waiting for Fluke's answer.
The demon quickly changed his order to a simple cup of coffee and a donut so that way he could follow the detective. He didn't quite understand what the hell had just happened back there, but it was clear the mundane was in some sort of mood and he knew him pretty well to know it wouldn't serve him good to add more fuel to it.
As the detective wasn't walking too fast, kinda lost on his own thoughts, it wasn't hard for the demon to catch up with him. It was just to cross the street and then… a loud honk was heard, a driver screaming to the pedestrian to pay attention to it's way and a lot of witnesses gasping loudly at the scene.
The commotion made Ohm snap out of his daydreaming land and he turned to see what had happened. Not to his surprise, a car almost hit Fluke when he tried to cross the street too distracted while munching his food.
"What the hell are you doing?", he asked worriedly after closing the large distance between them with only a few steps.
"I was just…", Fluke tried to say, but was interrupted by the driver who kept screaming and cursing at him.
"I'm so sorry, sir! Have a nice day!", Ohm gave the man a fake smile and then grabbed Fluke's cup of coffee in one hand and the smaller male's hand in his other one.
They walked down a few streets before Fluke got enough courage to say anything because he could clearly see steam coming out of the mundane's head.
"I'm okay, you can let me go now…", he whispered, kinda hoping the man didn't listen to him. To his surprise, even his low tone was captured by the other's ears.
"Not my problem!", Ohm said and only then realizing they were holding hands, breaking their contact.
"What the hell happened to you today?! You're acting all weird!", Fluke accused.
