The loud music and the crowded place made it hard for them to chat, but Pine made herself understood by pointing to the spot she wanted them to go. They were dancing feeling the rhythm and for the first time in her life, Sammy felt great being herself having fun with the person she loved the most.

The couple had started to date a few weeks ago and due to their hectic schedule, it was their first night out in a long time. They still needed to get up early in the next morning, but the night was still ahead of them. And they enjoyed moving their bodies until sweat was flowing in their faces but not even that was enough to make them stop.

However, the dj had another plan, apparently, since he stopped the music all of a sudden. Instantly, the people in the dancefloor looked around trying to find a reason for that unusual interruption, but were spared to think further. A person coming out from the middle of the crowd was gathering to themselves all of the attention.

The person was neatly dressed in a black suit with no shirt under the coat, making it easier to spot a necklace with a single letter "S" in fancy style hanging in contrast to the smooth golden brown skin. Their walk was paced, but not slow, there was a certain rhythm as their feet stepped on the floor making the heels clack loudly. The whole place went silent before that presence like people were holding their breath.

After climbing the stairs to the second floor, the charming person stood in front of the public to make an announcement, but first moved their chin lightly to the right, indicating the waiters should take the cue. The men started to walk around the place serving drinks to the clients who accepted without thinking much. It felt like everyone was acting under a spell or something as oppressive as one.

"My loves...", the person started and Pine felt her skin shiver with the tone used. Despite the voice being as smooth as silk, it had something that made her instincts freeze. "Since our birth people say our destiny is already sealed. If we die young, they say it was meant to be, but the same goes for those who live longer. Dying due natural causes makes those above us glad to fulfil their plans for us. Our only chance to have true power about our fate is when we make our own choices. This is why we should do it now! Please let's have a toast!", the person said, raising the glass in their hand.

Sammy gave Pine a warning look, hoping her girlfriend would take the hint, but the girl looked off, with her eyes completely blank. Seeing the people around them drinking the liquor made it even weirder, but she soon didn't feel the urge to fight against that feeling anymore.

"Our only chance to have true power about our fate is when we make our own choices...", Sammy babbled before drinking the liquid.

A few seconds later, the whole crowd was found dead on the floor. The drink was poisoned and they fell without the chance to look for help. Meanwhile, the person with the letter "S" hanging on their neck was marveling at the feeling of being able to eat fresh new souls. It was so easy to fool mundanes that it didn't even feel like a challenge for them.

Fluke arrived at the Police Station carrying their orders from the diner across the street. It should be considered a minor task for a high level demon like him -- and probably his former mates would make fun of him because of that if he was back there in Hell --, but still, he felt good doing it. It wasn't that hard to maintain a nice life beside mundanes and he felt like he could miss this after catching the last demon and becoming stardust or whatever would be his destiny after using his own heart to lock the creature.
