I already knew it was going to be a long week, this is our last week of 8th grade before the summer and then high school. The group is still all over the place ever since Texas, I don't know how this summer is going to work but all I know is that I'm going to enjoy it and not let any drama ruin my time with my dad, friends, and boyfriend.
"Hey there darlin'." Luke said, walking up to my locker. I gave him a kiss before pulling away.
"Hey Luke, where's everybody else?" I asked and he sighed, leaning on the locker next to mine.
"Riley and Maya are avoiding the group, Farkle is trying to try Michelle from trying to killing Maya, and Liam definitely hiding from you. You and I are just trying to make the most of all of this." I groaned, dropping my head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around me.
"This is becoming too much for me..." I mumbled into his chest and he ran his fingers through my hair.
"I know Precious, but we'll get through this... I promise." I looked up at him
"You shouldn't make promises you know you can't keep Luke." he held my face
"Okay then, I promise that we'll come out this okay. I know you won't let this group fall down to shit." He said
"I'm tired of holding this group together, it's becoming too much for me." I told him honestly
"I'll be right by your side, holding your hand every step of the way."

"Okay class, this is it. Your journey with me ends and begins a new one called high school." Cory starts off the class"How do you know if we're ready or not?" Riley asked, glancing at the out of sync friend group
"That's easy, you're not ready." Cory said and I gave him a thumbs up
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, greatest teacher ever." I said with my voice dripping in sarcasm.
"That's the point of life, you will not be ready for the changes in your life. But it's the people that you bring along with you in that journey that make it much easier." He says
"What if you don't know if those people are worth the trouble?" Liam asked, making my eyes widen and I looked over at Lucas who had the same facial expression as me. I'm pretty the whole class was shook by his question, even Cory was in shock.
"Uh... how about I phone a friend? Deja?" Cory called out my name
"We're not friends Cory." He gave me a look and I looked over at Liam who didn't want to make eye contact.
"Even through everything you have been experienced with them, if you still find yourself wondering if they're okay, then they're worth the trouble. You still care about them, even if they did hurt you or not... That's how you'll know. But I know how tiring that can get, not knowing whether to let them back into your life or back. Sometimes, you just have to take a leap of faith and if it wasn't the right decision then you experience and you learn from your mistakes. You'll never know until you try, but it doesn't have to right away. Take your time and find the right moment." I said before turning back to the front of the class to see Cory smiling at me.
