Shay's POV:
We all started saying what we were grateful for this year. "Who would like to go first?" "You should go my love." Lizzie said giving me a kiss on the cheek and wrapping her arm around my waist. "Okay, um... I'm really grateful for Lizzie, Blu and this beautiful Christmas with a family." Lizzie could see the hurt in my eyes because I'm missing my dads, and so she held my hand, kissing it and rubbing soothing circles over the back of my hand, while I placed my head on her shoulder.

"Okay, so... I'm extremely grateful for Shay, the growing bond between her and dad, and mom." Lizzie said while still hugging my waist and holding my hand. "I'm grateful that Lizzie finally found love, for this beautiful day and for my husband who can be a pain in my ass at times." Jarnette said causing all of us to laugh. "I'm grateful that Lizzie is happy, that I got to meet Shay and my beautiful family." David said which caused me to blush at the compliment. "Thank you for allowing me to spend Christmas with you guys. It's been lovely." I said to my, hopefully, future parents. "It's an absolute pleasure sweetie. We've loved having company." David said to me with a smile and so I smiled back.

"Who's ready for gifts?!" Jarnette asked making us all laugh at her excitement.

We all sat around the Christmas tree. I grabbed a blanket off the couch and wrapped it around Lizzie and I.

Jarnette grabbed a gift from underneath the tree and placed it in front of Lizzie and I. "This is for Lizzie and then I'll get Shay's one." Lizzie started unwrapping the gift and I saw her face light up as soon as she opened the box. "Do you like it honey?" "Like it? I love it!" Lizzie got up and hugged her parents. "Thank you, thank you, thank you." I smiled to myself at how excited she was getting. She was like a little kid and I loved it. "You're most welcome honey."
