Things happen in life. A lot of things. We meet people, we watch them leave. We fall in love, we fall out of it. We break hearts, we survive heartbreaks. We live on most days and simply breathe on others. But here's the sad part-we meet people, but only remember the part where they leave; we fall in love, but only remember the struggle it took to fall out of it; we break hearts, but only remember the people who broke ours; we live on most days, but remember only those we survived. Point is, if we want to be happy in life, we have to keep a count of the things that made us happy, as diligently as we keep a count of those that didn't.
We are in the habit of preserving our feelings. We procrastinate dealing with them. We fear acknowledging them. We look for ways to deal with them without having to deal with them. Amidst this charade of sorts, we don't realise when these feelings turn into unresolved, unprocessed, unsettled and inconclusive life events, also known as, baggage. We are so desperate to stitch the wounds in our hearts, that we don't realise when they turn into perpetually damaged clots. We have to stop fearing and escaping our feelings. We have to communicate with our emotions before we begin to heal from them. We need to comprehend why we're feeling what we're feeling. Having said that, we also have to keep in mind that just like us, people make mistakes. We can't move on unless we forgive them and if we want to have a hassle-free journey to heaven, we have to unload the baggage. P.E.R.I.O.D.T
