"CHLOE!? CHLOE WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!?" Tate screams, he always had a strange attachment to Chloe.
"Chloe!!! Chole come back please where are you?!" I shout in a panic. Tate moves around the cars looking under and inside the cars. She wasn't there.
I sigh, "I have no idea where she could be..." The bushes rustle. I look at Tate and he takes of in a sprint me trailing behind him.
He digs through the bush and finds nothing. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see a tiny blonde head.
"Tate!!! There!!" I point and he goes to search. When he emerges he's carrying a crying Chloe in his arms. she clings to him with tears streaming down her face.
"Where's mommy?"she whispers. "I want my mammy." She sobs. he hushes her while gently stroking her hair.
"Shh it's okay baby." he soothes as he sets her in the car seat and buckles her in.
I hop in the front and buckle up while he gets on the drivers side and turns on the car. we ride home in sad silence. When we finally pull into the driveway I jump out and run into the house.
"Rose..." I hear Tate say but I'm running up to my room and lock the door behind me.
Tate's POV
"Rose..." I say but she doesn't listen. I sigh and turn to get Chloe out of the car. I pull her out of the car and her little arms and legs wrap around me tightly. "shhh it's okay darling."
She shakes slightly as I carry her up to her room. I lay her in bed and tuck her in and kiss her forehead.
"Go to sleep. it's all gonna be okay."
"But what if... What if... They come back?" She asks, her voice shaking.
The twins. They've traumatized her. I smooth her hair back from her face and kiss her cheek. "don't you worry about them. They won't bother you anymore."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes." I say firmly. "It'll be okay." I say as I set her favorite bear next to her.
"Now, Jimmy Bear here will protect you from the dark," I smile at her,"And if the ghosts come back tell them to "go away" and they will. Okay?"
She nods.
"Now what was it I told you to say?"
"Go away."
I smile and say,"good girl." And turn to walk out of the room.
