Walking into the science lab, Taehyun was shocked to see that no one had shown up. Well, apart from Beomgyu. The boy was sitting, as usual, on one of the desks, this time he was playing a game on his phone.
"Hyung where's Yeonjun and Kai?" Taehyun asks, walking over to Beomgyu.
"I told them the meeting was cancelled." Beomgyu mumbles.
"What why? We need to have this meeting."
"I wanted to be alone."
The boy didn't look up from his phone once, talking to Taehyun. Frustrated, Taehyun grabs the phone from Beomgyu's hand, stuffing it in his bag.
"Yah! give it back." Beomgyu groaned.
Hoping up on the desk, Taehyun sat in front of Beomgyu. Reaching into his already opened bag, he pulls out a form and a pen.
"We're still having this meeting." Taehyun flips the form around, facing it towards Beomgyu. "The school fairs this weekend, we need to apply for a booth."
Beomgyu picks up the form, reading through it. "I'm guessing this is your plan to get more members." He sighs.
"Obviously. We're extremely lucky Principle Bang gave us a month. I know we technically need 6 members, but I think aiming for more is our best bet of keeping the club."
Taehyun looked really motivated, nothing seemed to bother him. Beomgyu wondered why Taehyun wanted to help so badly, did he have a thing for him? No, probably not, Kang Taehyun helps everybody.
"Ugh okay, what are we gonna do then?"
"I was thinking, a game. If we pull people in with something fun, it'll firstly show that this club isn't boring, and secondly we'll have more people coming over, which means more people we can convince to join our club." Taehyun replies.
"That's actually a good idea." Beomgyu said, biting his lip.
"I know. We'll need to prep everything; i'll make a group chat. That way I can discuss everyone's roles, without you shooing them away."
On Friday evening, there was only one job left to sort out. Decorating the booth. Taehyun lugged all the supplies to the science lab, all on his own. He brought, the wooden signs, paint cans, paint brushes, nails, glitter, glue, anything that'll make the booth look nice.
"Oh you're here." Taehyun gasps, jumping a little when he saw Beomgyu on the desk.
"I thought you could use an extra pair of hands." He states, hoping down from the desk. Beomgyu walks over to Taehyun, taking a few of the supplies off him.
The boys pile the stuff across one of the desks, then they both took their seats next to the stuff. Beomgyu sat cross legged, immediately picking up one of the wooden signs.
"What are we painting on this?"
Taehyun pokes the inside of his cheek with his tongue. "Something like what was on the flyer, basically 'Join The Dinosaur Club'."
"Cool." Beomgyu nods, picking up the red paint.
"But no blood, no sharp teeth, no dinosaurs ripping each other apart, alright?"
Rolling his eyes, Beomgyu puts down the red paint. "You suck." He mumbles under his breath.
Over the next hour, the two sat together decorating stuff for the booth. It was the most peaceful they had ever been. Beomgyu couldn't focus most of the time though, he couldn't help but look at Taehyun. When the boy was concentrating he'd stick out his tongue, it was really cute.
"Hyung that looks really good!" Taehyun exclaimed, with a big smile on his face.
Beomgyu felt a rosy pink colour flush his cheeks, darting his eyes away from Taehyun. "Don't call me that."
"Hyung? You told me to call you that."
"Well I don't like it anymore, just call me Gyu."
Taehyun pouted slightly, Beomgyu was very confusing. He felt warm but cold, friendly but rude, he wasn't sure if they were even friends yet.
"Okay Gyu," Taehyun says hesitantly. "Everything seems sorted, let's leave it here to dry."
Taehyun jumps from the desk, packing his stuff into his bag.
"Are you going home now?" Beomgyu asks, still avoiding eye contact.
"Yeah it's quite late." Taehyun replies, walking towards the door. "I'll see you for the fair tomorrow."
Making his way down the stairs, Taehyun hears loud footsteps thumping behind him. Thinking it's just some other kid, he continues until he's out of the building.
"Taehyun!"
Turing to see Beomgyu, who looks really out of breath, Taehyun raises an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"
"It's dark out, you shouldn't walk home alone." Beomgyu pants.
"It's fine Gyu, I do this everyday." Taehyun chuckles, before feeling a strong hand grasp his wrist.
"Come on, we're going home."
Taehyun doesn't know what to say, he just let's Beomgyu drag him down the street.
