POV HOPE
When I told the two of them what had happened in the place where Landon woke up, their reaction made me anguish. I didn't have good news to share, but I'm not sure if the reason for his apparent sadness was that he probably only has six days to live, or that I didn't choose to leave with him taking the Crescents with me. Explaining the proposal Persia made me to them, I realized that the decision not to accept made it seem like I'd rather have Julio around instead of him, and that wasn't true. It wasn't about choosing between the two.
J: - So she was the one who captured me?
H: - More or less, the capture job was Dylan and his vampires, she just ordered. – I said while looking for a spellbook in my room.
LA: - So she blew out another candle? That explains my discomfort before you arrived.
H: - I'm sorry.
LA: - It's okay, it's not your fault.
H: - I promise I'll fix it, you won't die again. - Said staring at him.
J: - How do you intend to avoid this exactly? Will you change your mind about the deal? – He asked cautiously.
H: - Forcing the Crescents to leave New Orleans is out of the question, as is Landon's death. - I tried to look as confident as possible.
LA: - Hope, you're smart enough to know you can't guarantee both, can you stop for a minute?! It's making me nervous.
I was walking around the house gathering magical objects for the spell I would do soon, but I stopped. It was natural for him to be nervous, his life was in the hands of a crazy witch and I had just authorized the countdown of his days when I turned down her proposal. Landon would never ask me to opt for him, but I totally understood his thinking about having the right to stay alive. What ended with me, and probably with him too, was that, once again, this decision was not his.
H: - Landon, trust me, I won't let you die. We have six days to find a way out and I know we will! For example, right now I'm trying to gather magic objects to talk to someone who can help us with this.
J: - He said he was someone in the family, are you going to call your aunt Freya?
H: - No, for Uncle Kol.
When I finally gathered everything I needed, I started the astral invocation process. She didn't know where or how Uncle Kol was, but he understood magic as much as Aunt Freya, and as a bonus, maybe he could count on Davina's help if necessary. It only took me a few minutes to concentrate to hear a familiar voice, and when I opened my eyes, there he was.
K: - How long, dear? – He said smiling.
H: - A long time, uncle Kol. - Said returning the smile.
K: - Do I need to worry about being alone with two guys in your room?
Between the moment of embarrassment and the moment of indignation at such a conservative thought, I managed to focus on what I really wanted with that contact.
H: - No, Uncle Kol, you don't have to. In fact, I called you because I need your help.
K: - Problems with magic?
H: - More or less.
K: - I'm flattered and I'm happy to help, but if you can ask, why didn't you talk to Freya? It's the oldest and most accessible magic font you've ever owned.
H: - Aunt Freya managed to go on vacation with Keelin and little Nik, an unprecedented vacation after more than a thousand years, I didn't want to bother her or worry her.
