Have you ever been cheated on?

Have you ever felt that feeling of betrayal?

The one where you put your whole heart and soul into a person and they just leave you, alone.

I went through that once, somehow it just didn't transfer in my brain correctly and now I'm afraid of being rejected but, now I get it. Now I understand, it took me nineteen years of my life to understand that I don't need to be afraid of rejection. It's part of life, and if you don't like me then you're missing out. It was until one day I met her... red and blonde hair, hazel eyes, edgy, small, she looked pissed about something but, I didn't know why. I just remember admiring her from a distance every day at my job.

She looked so beautiful, I worked at a café, it's funny because it's not Busy Bean, no it was some random rundown place. I only came because they were paying high since they were so desperate for workers. But, this one girl. I don't know her name, I don't even know why she come's here everyday but, she was gorgeous. She always looked tired and focused but today, she looked angry at the world.

Of course she's seen me walk around a couple times because I have to wait tables as well but, I wish she noticed me the way I notice her. I have never seen someone as beautiful as her. "Ace get your head out of the clouds and get to work or else I'll make you clean the toilets, You want to do Sarah's job?". I shook my head and he smiled, "Good, now go wait... table seven". Table seven, oh, oh? OH! that's her table.

I smiled shyly and walked over to her table. I said, "Hello, can I get you started with a drink?". She looked up, she looked furious. The girl said with a gentle tone, "I'm ready to order". I nodded for her to go on and she said, "Can I have a pumpkin muffin with some chai tea with cream please? extra sugar".

I jotted it down quickly and said, "It should only take five minutes". I felt her energy, she seemed nervous but angry. I looked around and saw that everyones table was taken by other waiters and waitresses. I walked backward toward her table and sat down directly in front of her at her table. I looked her in the eye and said, "I know it's probably none of my business but, are you okay?".

The girl looked up and said, "Ugh, I found my boyfriend cheating on me today and then he broke up with me two hours later over the phone. Then, I spilled my morning coffee on my WHITE shirt but, I had no time to fix it since I was already in the office for my JOB INTERVIEW. Then, I came here after changing and I am currently grinding on an essay due in two days". I looked at her engaged in our conversation and said, "Sounds like a rough day! Between me and you, your meal is on the house". The girl smiled and said, "What's your name?".

I replied, "Ace". The girl replied, "Ace.. that's a pretty cool name, my name is Blaze". I widened my eyes and said, "Woah, are you like joking?!". She shook her head and smiled, it was kind of adorable. I said, "You have a really cool name".

She smiled a little and said, "Thank you but, I'm curious, how did you know something was wrong with me?". I sighed and said, "Well, you usually don't look angry when you walk into the café also, Victim recognize victim". She looked me in the eyes and said, "You've been cheated on too?". I nodded and said, "She did it with no remorse and when I confronted her about it she seemed like she didn't understand what she did was wrong". Blaze laughed and said, "Yeah, I hate when they think pretending it isn't wrong, will make it better".
