The final dose would come any minute and that was it. There was no going back or getting saved. Whatever help Emille or Julie had sent was to late. That was if they even did send help Cage thought to himself. His body ached. He couldn't speak properly anymore and couldn't move his muscles the way he wanted to. His thoughts were clouded and weren't clear. He was confused and angry.
This was Cage. The twenty four year old boy who had lived on Triton for a few years with no parents and had been proud enough to call it home. He was the kid that liked doing work but always had time to fit in some fun or show off his skills.
He liked fighting the dirty battles, but hated losing, giving up but thought that the worst part was admitting he had lost. He was the underdog the one no one had ever believed in but always came through in the end. He hadn't made friends and regretted his past choices and the things he had said to Emille. They had parted not at a disagreement and now they would both die not knowing who the other person really was and maybe if he would've accepted Emille and Emille would've accepted him they wouldn't be in this position. Everyone would be okay. Cage knew though, he was smart enough to know that this situation had gone too far already and this was it. Briston wasn't just a normal fly by governor. He was smart, deadly, ruthless and was always one step ahead. Cage, Julie and Emille had tripped and fallen a step behind and now....... now they wouldn't be able to recover.
The shaky and a little creepy doctor walked in holding the syringe. Cage was a monster now. Just like everyone else on Triton.

"I don't want to kill you Emille." Briston admitted and for once offered a nice, but fake smile, Emille rolled his eyes.
"Is that so?" Emille said. "You tried to drown me." Emille smart talked him and Dennis shook his head in disappointment.
"Stop living in the past. The past is,done......forgotten! You don't need to worry about that. It matters that your here right now.... Still breathing." Briston replied taking a seat in his desk that was so nicely organised that it looked like everything had been glued down perfectly.
"Forget about the past? Thats all you seem to talk about." Emille gritted his teeth together.
"Yes I know. The past is important for facts and learning from your mistakes, but you don't dwell on the past." He said placing down a black brief case behind his desk. "Do you get it Emille?" Briston folded his arms.
"All I've learnt from the past is that the only people who gain power are corrupted by it and thats a mistake that has happened too many times without being corrected." Emille replied slowly lowering a hand towards his gun holster.
"I plan to change that." Briston looked to emilles cold blue eyes.
"No." Emille flat out replied and the tension rose in the room. Both men tensed and for a moment Briston had almost reached for his gun and spilled lead into Emille.
"Whys that?" Briston leaned back on his chair pulling out the drawer that held his pistol.
"Because you've ruined everything already." He mumbled out.
"NO!" Briston shouted. "You don't get it, I have to make the hard choices! I'm leading an entire city while you sit there trying to destroy all of it while I along with a man you killed saved your life and got you here!" He yelled slamming a fist down on the table.
"And I don't blame you for mistakes." Emille began. "But I do want you to pay for them." Emille pulled the gun out of the holster, but Bristons was already raised.
"No no no!" He scowled getting up from his desk. "I won't let a soldier tell me how to do this." Briston cocked the gun and loaded it. Emille grew nervous. He understood him and kron and what they had to do to save human life but it didn't change whether they were mad men and truthfully emille didn't want to kill him.
"Briston this doesn't have to happen, no one has to die." Emille began pleading and lowering his weapon.
"Like I said Emille....... We learn from the past mistakes and the one mistake I made was not being able to end your life, but now, now I can correct myself and make it better." Briston aimed at Emille and for a brief second Emille heard the bang, saw the flash, and saw the gleam of the bullet right before it pierced his stomach with such force it ripped a hole in his skin. The pain ripped through him like he had been set on fire. He crumpled to the floor holding the painfully agonising wound.
"See Emille were both lost in this confused world." Briston said tossing the gun to the side and walking to emille.
"I'm- I'm finding my.... my way." Emille spat out blood and a tear streamed down his eye. Briston watched as the words stuttered from his dying lips.
"Maybe." Briston whispered.
Emille was covering his wound with one hand. Emile lowered to the floor taking a resting place. Briston got back up and went behind his desk unable to see if Emilles body was still breathing.
"I'm glad we met." He said looking out over triton. There were big plans for the future of Triton, for the future of man kind and with the one biggest threat removed and the two others dead and dying things would now go according to plan without a problem or road block.
Briston allowed a slight smile. This was good not good, but perfect. Yes. Perfect was the right word.
